14 Weeks and 3 Days Later - May 18/18

James - 11 Months Old

Olivia - 7 Months Old

I went on tour with Dave for a week and then came home to finish filming season two of Wisteria Lane. I had two weeks off between the show and the movie, so James and I went to visit Dave for a few days before we headed off to Germany with Virginia and Gisele. We got there a week before I had to start filming so Gisele showed us around. Dave was joining us today and I couldn't wait. It was also the last week I had off before we started filming. After I got myself ready, I got James all dressed up and we headed to the airport to meet Dave. I was waiting by baggage claim because I knew he'd end up here eventually.

"Now when you see daddy I want you to say dada ok? Da da. Dada," I said as I held James so he was facing me. I kept saying it and he just smiled back at me.

"Mama," he said after awhile and I put my forehead against his.

"Ya that's me but I need you to say dada baby boy. You're dada is going to be here soon. Just once for mama please," I said softly. James responded with saying mama again and I just sighed.

"He's just not ready to say it yet I guess," I heard someone say from behind me. I smiled wide at James before I turned around and saw Dave standing there. I moved James to my hip and then gave him a one armed hug.

"Did you get more handsome since I last saw you?" I asked with a wink.

"Nope but you definitely got prettier. Hey you," Dave said before he gave me a kiss.

"Hey right back at you. Look James it's dada. Say hi dada," I said.

"Mama," James said as he pointed at Dave. I shrugged as I looked back at Dave.

"Oh come here buddy. I missed you," he said. He took James from me and started giving him kisses which made him giggle.

"Mama," James said as he grabbed a hold of Dave's hair.

We waited for Dave's bag and then headed back to where we were staying for the next six weeks. Virginia and Gisele were waiting for us and after they all said their hellos and hugged we headed out for dinner. James was an active one during dinner and refused to stay in his stroller so Dave kept him on his lap most of the time. Once we were back at the small apartment we were staying in, we said good night and went our separate ways. As I got ready for bed I could see Dave pacing with James while humming in the mirror. It had been a struggle for us to make it these past few weeks and I was glad we made it through. At least now that the tour was done we could all be together as a family. I turned the light off in the bathroom, walked over to Dave, gave James a kiss on the head and then got into bed.

"I'll be joining you as soon as he's asleep," Dave said as he turned to face me.

"Take your time. I'm ok with waiting. Besides watching you and him together makes me happy," I replied with a smile. James turned his head so they were both looking at me now and he pointed at me.

"Mama," he said and then looked back at Dave.

"Ya that's your mom. Do you know who I am?" Dave asked him. James looked back at me and I mouth dada to him before he turned to look back at Dave.

"Mama," James replied.

"No that's mama," Dave said and pointed at me.

James looked where he was pointing and then held his arms out to me. Dave put James on the bed by me and I put in my lap so we were both facing Dave. He went to the bathroom while I tried to get James to calm down enough to go to sleep but he was apparently too happy to see his dad just like I was. When Dave came out of the bathroom James surprised both of us.

"Dada," he shouted. Dave stood there with his mouth open before smiling wide and taking James from me.

"You said it. Who am I?" Dave asked him.

"Dada," James replied as he looked at Dave. Dave kissed James and hugged him tightly

"That's right. I'm your dada and I love you little guy," David said and kissed him again.

Dave and I decided to put things on hold until tomorrow and let James stay with us. We watched a movie on my laptop and just cuddled as one little happy family.
