8 Months And 2 Days Later - November 27, 2023
11 Months Old
After I had told Dave I didn't want any more kids, things were a little icey between us. We decided to go on a trip with all the kids, including the girls and it seemed to help. A couple of months ago he and the guys started working on a new album. I had also started doing some guest star roles and photo shoots again once I had lost the baby weight. Kimmy was over today and we were going over my schedule for the next couple of month. I was trying to book as much as I could before Dave went on tour after his birthday. We decided to break for lunch and when Kimmy opened hers the smell of it made me want to gag.
"What did you get?" I asked her with a small disgusted face.
"Tuna salad. Why?" she asked in return.
"No reason. Just thought I'd ask," I responded with. I closed the container that held my sandwich and excused myself. Once I was out of the kitchen, I ran to the bathroom and made it just in time. When I came back Kimmy gave me a funny look.
"Are you ok?" she asked as I sat back down at the table.
"Ya, I'm ok. So weird though. I smelled the tuna and it just hit me weirdly. That's never happened before," I replied.
"Yes, it has. When you were pregnant with Lucas you couldn't stand the smell of any kind of fish. I remember one time when you, uh nevermind," Kimmy said when she saw my face.
"There's no way that I'm pregnant. I'm on birth control. I take it every morning. We even use condoms," I say trying not to freak out.
The rest of the day went by without another incident but I was a little freaked out. After Kimmy left to get James, I ran upstairs and started digging around in the cupboard under the sink. When I found the leftover pregnancy test that I was looking for, I texted Dave and asked him when he'd be home. After he said he'd be an hour and that he'd cook dinner tonight, I knew I had enough time to take the test without being interrupted unless Lucas woke up. I took the test and then sat there and waited. There was a slight possibility that I could be pregnant. I had forgotten to take my pill a couple of mornings near the end of the month but we had used condoms every time. I had told Dave I didn't want any more kids and we were both finally ok with that. I knew deep down that if I was, in fact, pregnant that I would be happy about it. I'd be lying though if I said I wasn't scared or worried. When the timer went off, I picked up the test and stared at it. I don't know how long I had been sitting there staring at it before I heard Lucas crying. I put the test down and headed towards Lucas's room. I picked him up and we headed downstairs to the living room. We were watching some kids cartoon when Kimmy and James came home. Dave arrived shortly after and started doing what he did best and put some ribs on the bbq. Kimmy stayed for dinner and then left afterwards because she was meeting friends for drinks. After I finished doing the dishes, Dave went to put Lucas down for the night while I helped James with his homework. When I heard Dave coming back into the kitchen, I looked up and was shocked to see what he was holding.
"Hey buddy why don't you go get ready for bed," Dave said as he walked over to us.
"But I'm not done my homework," James said back.
"You can finish it after you get into your PJs. I just need to talk to your mom for a minute ok," Dave said in response.
"Ok dad," James said and left the kitchen.
"So you want to tell me something?" Dave asked as he put the test down on the table in front of me.
"What's there to tell? I took a test and it says I'm pregnant. I didn't plan this," I said back.
