5 Weeks Later - December 20, 2019

The Night Before The Wedding

The last five weeks were crazy ass busy and I was glad that the wedding was now only a day away. The rehearsal had gone great and now Dave and I were in separate places for the night. Dave was at the house with the kids and Taylor while I was with Abby at The Surfrider Malibu. Abby was passed out but I couldn't get to sleep. I was out on the balcony when I got a text message. It was Dave asking me if I was awake. I responded back with a yes and then asked him why he was awake. He texted back saying he was too wired too sleep and then asked why I was up. I said I was nervous and he responded back by asking me if I wanted to go for a drive. I said sure and then went back inside and changed into jeans and a t-shirt before sneaking out of the room. When I got out to the front of the hotel I saw Dave sitting there with the door open, waiting for me. After driving awhile Dave parked the car and we just sat there, holding hands and staring out the windshield

"Why are you nervous about tomorrow?" Dave asked after a few minutes of silence.

"I'm not good at speeches and I think I might trip and fall. Just keep thinking about all the little possibilities that could happen," I replied.

"I wish there was a switch so I could shut your brain off for you sometimes. Don't over think things because you don't have anything to worry about. Everything will be ok tomorrow and then we get to be alone for two weeks. You, Me, both naked in a big giant bed with a view of the beach," Dave said and I smiled at him.

"Where is this big giant bed with a view of the beach that we'll both be naked in?" I asked.

"I'm not telling you until tomorrow Miss Lane," Dave replied with.

"Just a hint?" I pleaded.

"Nope. Not until you're Mrs. Grohl. Trust me it's somewhere good. I should get you back before Abby finds you missing. Do you want to go back to the hotel?" Dave asked.

"Not really. I don't want to go be alone," I replied.

"Abby is there so you won't be alone," Dave said.

"I know but she's sleeping so I will be up alone. Can we just stay here a little longer please?" I asked.

Dave agreed and we sat there for a few more minutes before he had to take me back to the hotel. I gave him a kiss before I got out and ran back inside to the room. I got into bed and I just waited to fall asleep.

The Next Day - Wedding Day - Dec. 21/19

I was woken up by Abby shaking me. After I sat up she gave me a cup of coffee and told me to get in the shower because we were running a little late. I took the coffee with me and sat in there for a bit before I showered. When I came back out the hair and make up person was there. I drank three cups of coffee and had a bagel and some bacon while I got my hair and make up done. I went with a normal hair style with a flower crown. I did not want to spend the night or tomorrow morning taking bobby pins out so I didn't do much with my hair. Once I was done I got dressed. My dress wasn't even technically a dress. It was a matching skirt and top set. The top was a tube top style with lace hanging around and the skirt was the same alce and went down to the floor. I had a long see through white kimono to wear over it later when it got dark out. Once we were both ready, we headed over to Malibu Phoenix. The rest of the brides maids were already there and waiting for us. I was getting more nervous as it got closer to the time. Hannah, Gisele, Taylor G, Kimmy and Abby tried to calm me down but I just wanted to get this over with. When Jenna came in and said everything was ready that's when my hands started shaking. We got on a golf cart and drove the short way to the beginning of the path to walk towards the ceremony. I knew I had nothing to be nervous about but I was. James ran over to me when he saw me and I picked him up and hugged him tightly.
