45. Dirty Laundry

9 Weeks Later - January 11, 2019

"I'm so glad I got the afternoon off," I said to Abby as we finished lunch.

"Me too. I feel like I never get to see you anymore. You're either working or spending all your spare time with James and Rufus," Abby said back.

Rufus and I had made things official after Christmas. Dave had also started seeing one and I hated her. She didn't seem all that interested in James when I would take him to Dave's and she was younger than me. Hell she was younger than Rufus even. All she did when I dropped off or picked up James was text on her phone. Once when I was leaving she had asked Dave when they were going to go upstairs and have sex. I wanted to rip her eyes out when she said that but I just left with James instead.

"Ya I know and I'm sorry. Once the movie is done and I only have to worry about the show I'll have more time. You excited for tomorrow though?" I asked.

"Yes. You are bringing Rufus with you right? I don't need you alone tomorrow night while Dave brings this girl around. She's annoying and he could honestly do so much better," Abby said and I couldn't help but laugh.

"When I dropped James off with Dave this morning she came down in just one of Dave's flannel shirts. I mean literally just Dave's shirt because she dropped something she was carrying and when she bent over I could see everything. Bitch needs to wear some clothes around my kid," I sad as the waitress took our plates.

"I don't know what he sees in her. You're bringing Rufus right?" Abby asked again.

"Of course I am. I pick him up at the airport in a couple of hours. Oh that reminds me I need to get condoms. I'm not taking any chances this time. I mean I could forget to take the pill again by accident and then we'll end up right where we would have been," I replied.

"He should be the one buying them. Did you tell either of them about what you did?" Abby asked as she paid after swatting my hand away from the bill.

"He should but he never does and no I didn't," I replied quietly.

"Maybe that's for the best. Who knows how they'd react. Let's go shopping for tomorrow night and find us some dresses. We'll get an extra sexy one for you that will drive both men crazy and piss off the tartlette," Abby said as she stood up.

We headed out to a couple of shops and I bought a few new dresses. After I went over to Abby's and changed into one of them. It was a greenish grey one and off the shoulders. I sat around with Abby and Olivia until Taylor came home with Dave and James. I spent time with James before I had to leave to go pick up Rufus. Before I left I asked Dave if he could take James for the weekend and he said he would love to. As I drove to the airport I couldn't help but smile at the fact that I had seen Dave check me out a couple of times. Things were getting better between us. We were talking now instead of fighting every time we saw each other. We even had a weekly lunch date every Monday to go over appointments and things for James that week. I parked in the parking lot of the airport and had a smoke to kill a little time before heading in to get Rufus. I got to the door just as Rufus came out and I got so excited I jumped into his arms and hugged him. We then headed to Malibu and spent the rest of the night making up for us not being together for the holidays.

The Next Night

"Wow don't you look hot," Rufus said as he walked into the bathroom. I turned to face him and smiled as I finished putting an earring in. I was wearing a short red dress and red sparkly sling back heels.

"Thanks. You look pretty hot yourself there mister," I said back.

"Thank you. Are you almost ready? We're running a little late," Rufus asked.
