After Samantha had been so ruthless with his father, Killian wanted one of two things. Either he wanted to rule the World of Light with Samantha, or he wanted to overthrow her leadership and rule it in her place. He was impressed with this new world. They had thought to bring the Humans into the Freefolk World, but their magic had not been strong enough. The Fabrics would not let the non-magical beings pass through the barrier. He wondered how Samantha had managed such a feat.

To rule with Samantha, there was the minor issue of Tyler. But in truth, Killian regarded Tyler as a non-entity. He was a tag-along-nothing. She had created the World of Light. He was sure it was her power alone. She might think she was in love with Tyler, but she was young. Feelings could change. He would pursue her love with every bit of charm he could muster. He felt pretty confident with his dark good looks. His own magic, while not as strong as hers, was something of a legend with the Darkfolk. No one had dared to challenge his rise to leadership after his father was gone.

Killian looked at the group gathered around him. He stood on a large rock that allowed him to see all ninety-nine of the Witches and Warlocks that would be moving, at least temporarily, to the World of Light. They looked like a good bunch. He was glad we was able to bring such strong Freefolk with him. Perhaps they'd be strong enough to overthrow the Lightfolk if necessary. He hoped such measures would  not be required, but he wanted to be prepared.

After so many had witnessed the death of their leader, the Freefolk were very clear about the fact they could not reenter the World of Light if they were removed. They had all assured him that they would not try. He did care for his people and didn't want to see such a terrible end for any of his folk.

"Are you all clear about our mission here?" he asked in a loud voice. There were murmurs in the affirmative. "We will go and test out the laws made by Samantha Storm. We will see just what she expects in terms of the treatment of these Human servants. Remember to try to be nice as much as possible," here there were soft chuckles throughout the crowd, "but we will not be cowed by a bunch of Humanfolk. No! And while the Lightfolk may be powerful... or at least," here he mocked, "at least, one of them is powerful..." more laughter through the crowd, " there are but four of them! We are one hundred! Our magic combined will certainly have the might to overtake these Lighfolk if necessary!"

There was a deafening roar of cheers through his people. He looked on at them with admiration and confidence. "Now, don't get me wrong! We do not go to the World of Light with the intent to destroy. No, no! Nor to takeover, for sure. Let us try out this new place and see what we think. You never know," he cast the group a conspiring look, "we might like it the way it is." A few hoots were heard through the crowd. "And if we do," he continued, "then perhaps we can actually enjoy a time of peace. I'm sure we can all agree that it would be nice to live in peace. Raise families." A sense of quiet overcame the Freefolk. Indeed, they did want these things... but with  servants and luxury. The World of Light really did offer them what they wanted.

"So....let us go," said Killian, "with open minds. But let us also go with open eyes." The crowd had settled and so only offered murmurs of agreement here. They gathered themselves together and headed toward the gateway that was open for them to proceed to the meetingplace.

On the other side of gate stood Samantha Storm. The other Lightfolk were standing just behind her. Samantha welcomed them with a kind smile. But it didn't reach her eyes. Her eyes were hard as she watched them for any sign of rebellion or anger. She had her guard up. She saw that Killian led them through the gate and was immediately annoyed by the flutter in her stomach. He was a very handsome man, but she knew she shouldn't let his good looks distract her from the fact she hadn't really figured out what he was like on the inside. What is he really like? She wondered.
