She found them all. She was saddened and furious by how many of them there were. Half. Half of the Darkfolk who had come to the World of Light had done harm to their servants. She would have to figure of where she had gone wrong. As soon as the harm had been done, they should have been removed from the World of Light, but she'd had to seek them out. She was a bit confused by that part.

She was pleasantly surprised to see that Killian had had no part in this uprising. She went to see him and could tell right away that his conscience was clear. "Your people," she had said. "They are treasonous."

"Not all of them. But yes. There is a darkness in some of them that cannot be dispelled. We came to see what the limits were. Some will push them more than others."

"Why didn't you?" Samantha had asked. She was surprised to hear a certain breathlessness in her voice.

Killian had looked into her eyes and she had seen something special in them."I think you know the answer to that question," he had gruffly whispered.

Samantha's eyes had widened and her stomach had filled with an unmistakable explosion of butterflies. She was already confused and this just added a whole other layer of emotion she wasn't ready to have. She knew that she was in love, madly so, with Tyler. Why did her body insist on reacting this way to Killian?

He must have seen the emotions racing across her face. "No spell throwing this time," he whispered with a smile.

"What a relief," she said, her voice dripping with sarcasm. "Really, though, I think we have more important issues to deal with, don't you?"

"Just follow through with your promises, Samantha. Be the leader you promised you would be."

She was surprised to hear this advice from him. She would have thought he would defend his brethren. To try to keep them in this World. Another chance, perhaps. But no. He was on her side... or so it appeared. She reminded herself that he was, really, one of the Darkfolk to the core. Their leader, for crying out loud. She needed to be careful with her trust.

"Oh, don't worry. I will," she muttered as she turned on her heel and headed to the door. "Are you going to come? Your people may want to see you as they receive judgment."

"How long will it take? I've been busy trying to create some beauty to add to this World."

She turned to look at him. "As long as it takes the Reflection spells to work." He looked at her with a question in his eyes. She explained what they had done.

"Oh, I can help with that. I know exactly the spell they have used." She smiled at him. What a relief, she thought. Who would have guessed Killian would come in so handy?

Perfect, he thought. She is going to trust me soon. And then, there will be no stopping me. He followed her as she continued her way out of his house.

Samantha and Killian walked into the holding room together. There was a weird, uncomfortable look about them that Tyler noticed right away. He didn't like what he saw. He made eye-contact with Killian and grinned when he saw Killian recoil slightly as their eyes met. He should be afraid, thought Tyler.
