"Hi Shawn, it's Eva here."
Well, that was new.
"Uh...hi!" He greeted awkwardly, unsure of what else to say.
"I'm sorry for Blake, but unlike you're probably thinking he really wants to help you." Eva told him earning a complaint from Blake. She ignored him and kept on talking. "He felt bad for shutting you down last time. Hell, he can even face Signe properly after that. Anyways, Blake's just tryna look tough. So, what were you saying before Blake was an idiot?"
You love this idiot. The blond's boy voice was heard through the phone, Shawn quickly picking up what was going on there. Eva and Blake were something for sure.
"I said I wrote a song. It's for Signe, I just don't think it'll be enough." Shawn told her as he reached for the lamp on the bedside table to turn it on. "You know...to get her back."
"Humm...She doesn't seem like the person that needs much more than that." The girl commented. Although Shawn agreed, he wasn't feeling like that time a song would suffice.
"I wrote a song for her before, what makes this one special?"
"Oh, trust me. It is special, but if you feel like it isn't enough, then what else would you like to do?" She inquired. Shawn sighed, that was exactly the reason why they were there, to begin with. What else could he do? "Wait up, so you're gonna come and fix things with her or you're planning on doing something else?"
"Like what?"
"I don't know. If you don't come here, then bring her to you."
"That's an excellent idea, Eva, I'm pretty sure Signe will be jumping with delight!" Blake said sarcastically. That answer reminded Shawn of when Blake was dealing with the divorce of his parents. He was already a sarcastic being, but when it came to serious matters Blake's sarcasm could be very annoying.
"Shut up Blake! I know she won't, yet what do you suggest to do? Nothing?" Eva argued causing the brown-haired boy to grin slightly. He didn't need to be present to understand they worked perfectly together, just like peanut butter and jelly. That made Shawn immensely happy, he knew what was the feeling of finding the person you are meant to share your life with and the craving of feeling that again with the same intensity as before was growing minute by minute.
"Don't do me that face! Why are you laughing, it's not funny!"
"Whatever."
"Maybe you're right. I could bring her to me."Shawn whispered as he thought about his next concert. By then his song would be done and he could sing it. Not only he could sing it as well as he could perform that song. Perhaps admit his mistake in front of everyone since he wasn't exactly afraid of confessing he did something he shouldn't have.
"And how are you planning on bringing her, Sherlock?" Blake questioned. Shawn massaged his tempers with his free hand. Signe wasn't going to come willingly, but forcing her to come wasn't at all what he'd like.
"Who is telling you she has to know we're bringing her to him?" Eva riposted. Damn this girl is a genius the boy commented to himself.
"We? Who? I didn't say I agreed with this. Besides, are you really willing to lie to her?" The blond boy counterattacked. At this moment, Shawn was afraid to say something. Yes, the ginger would be mad at them for being lied to, however, if everything worked up well then would all be worth it. Right?
"Look, Blake, forgiving is divine, you know that right? So stop. This is not good for you and Shawn. You've been down lately as well, so why not help? I know you'll feel better." Eva said sweetly on the other side of the line. Shawn listened to it, although he felt he was there too much. He couldn't deny that with these words he felt a little better knowing at least someone was willing to help him. "Besides, you were the one who told me you couldn't see Signe with anyone else but Shawn. Sooo, what are you waiting for?"
"Wait, he said that?" Shawn inquired in surprise.
"Anyways, if we go ahead with this, how are we gonna get the money for the plane, hotel and even freaking tickets? In case you haven't noticed, I'm not rich." Blake moved on, trying to change the subject. He totally did say that the caramel eyed boy thought as he smiled to himself. He just hoped all of that worked out.
"Don't worry about it. I got it." Shawn assured as he turned around in bed, now his back was up towards the ceiling, a smile on his face, small sparkles of joy glimmering in his eyes.
"When are we going?" Eva asked excitedly.
Shawn told her the date of his next concert and where it would be and took advantage of their time to tell them what he was going to do as an attempt to get the girl back. Then, he proceeded to ask Eva for some time alone with Blake to sort out their friendship. Evidently, Blake wasn't very happy with being left alone with him, which meant Blake wasn't the one who took the initiative to call him after the text, but the girl who he was with. He couldn't wait to meet her and thank her for being there for Blake when he wasn't, for being a better friend than he ever was, for making sure his buddy was happy and had someone to listen to him when he felt like his feelings are suffocating him. Overall, for being the best person he could have.
"Hey Blake... I'm sorry."
"I-I...I forgive you. What you did wasn't nice, but you don't deserve having to carry such weight on your shoulders." The blond admitted sighing afterward. "I'm rooting for you, just so you know."
"Thank you Blake. You have no idea of how happy this makes me." Shawn smiled as the words left his mouth. He felt like he was going to sleep better tonight knowing Blake and him were on good terms again and that he had a chance of getting his girl back.
"I'd like to think you would do the same for me. Well, I and Eva have to go now. See you soon then." With that their call ended.
Shawn put his phone on the bedside table again, turned off the light from the lamp nearby the phone and lied down on the bed, his eyes closing, unable to stop smiling. He tried not to think negative that night, he did not want to lose the joy he was feeling currently as he snuggled with the bed sheets. In a few minutes, he fell asleep, the darkness welcoming with a warm touch.
The next day the boy made sure he was able to get the tickets for his friends as well as for Signe, hoping they were able to bring her for the next concert. He also made sure Niall was aware of what was soon going to happen. The Irish man transmitted his happiness and wished him good luck with the girl. He just couldn't wait to see her again, the touch of nervousness being felt by Shawn. There so many ways that could go, that thinking about them would only make everything worse, just like it did before which led him to where he was standing now.
Shawn picked up his guitar and kept on working on Roses, perfecting it for the girl, wishing with all his heart it would be enough.
