It was needless to say that he was nervous and it wasn't because of the concert that he would have that night, but because he didn't know how Signe would react to what he had planned. Shawn was almost sure she wasn't exactly happy with Eva and Blake for bringing her over and that belief was confirmed once he met up with them in the hotel lobby. He couldn't help but look disappointed when he saw Signe wasn't with them, despite already knowing that was going to happen. Seeing Blake again made Shawn incredibly happy, especially when he noticed he was holding Eva's hand. His buddy deserved to find someone who made him happy, just like Signe would bring him joy. At first, Shawn hesitated in how he should greet him, yet he decided to leave the awkwardness aside and hug him.

"This was so uncalled for." Blake complained. Shawn just ignored him, he knew deep down Blake didn't mind the gesture. Then he turned to Eva, who smiled shyly at him. He pulled her for a hug as well, after all, she was the one who appeared to be more than glad to help him.

"It's so nice to finally meet you." The boy said while still embracing Eva.

"I've imagined many different ways of how I would meet you and none was ever close to this." The girl confessed as he released her. She adjusted her glasses and glanced at Blake, her eyes glimmering.

"Life takes so many turns you don't expect."

"If you get more philosophical than that, I'll just turn around and leave." Niall's voice came from behind him, scaring them from how unexpected that was. The trio diverted their attention to the Irish man who approached them slowly, a grin on his face.

"I wasn't expecting to see you here." Shawn commented, delighted to see him there as well as more pressured and nervous. It was good to have him there for support, yet if what he had planned didn't work, if he got a no as an answer then he would be embarrassed.

"I wouldn't miss this for anything in the world." Niall told them, his grin getting wider.

"I can't freaking believe I'm in the same room as him!" Eva whispered yelled to Blake, but since Shawn was standing close to the couple he heard that too.

Shawn and Niall greeted each other warmly and right after the boy introduced Blake and Eva to him. The girl tried to talk with the Irish, however, she seemed lost, as if she didn't know what to say, battling with her inner self to find the right words to say. Upon noticing the girl's behavior Niall pulled her for a hug, some tears escaping Eva's eyes as she hugged him back. While Eva and Niall talked, Shawn pulled Blake aside so they could talk. They got closer to the nearest wall, giving some space to Niall and the girl and observed them for a few seconds, the blond boy smiling in delight.

"Is Signe in her room?" Shawn asked with worry as he ran a hand through his hair.

"Yeah, the flight was good, thanks for asking." Blake responded sarcastically with an eye roll. "I believe so, but I also believe it's a better idea to not cross paths with her right now. She...uh...is in a terribly bad mood."

"I wasn't-" The boy started talking, feeling a little guilty. He felt like Signe was only in a bad mood because of him, for forcing her to come to him. Maybe it would have been simpler to go to her instead, yet this way, she couldn't run from him.

"Whatever Mendes, I know you too well to know you would try your luck." The blond retorted, his blue eyes on Eva who was currently taking a selfie with Niall. He diverted his attention back to his friend and completed his thought. "Just stick to the plan before you screw up. Again."

"Fine." The caramel-eyed boy said as he glanced at the watch on his wrist. He had to leave now or it would get too late. He gave the boy the backstage access card, in case, they wanted to keep him company until the moment he would step on stage on work on his magic.

Niall joined him and went along with him to the place where the concert would happen that night, leaving behind the couple who still had the quest of making sure Signe would be at the concert. He only hoped they succeeded, or he would have to look for another approach, which wouldn't be as big as the one he had planned. Niall and Shawn discussed the plan until they got to the arena, where they changed subject considering his nervous system was starting to tear apart his stomach. His anxiety was too much to contain at that point, he felt like he could beg to God on that moment to just make things work.

"Shawn, try to calm down, please?" The Irish man pleaded worriedly, as Shawn walked back in forth unable to remain still.

"What if doesn't work?" He raised his voice and apologized almost immediately. Gosh Shawn, gain some self-control he told himself as he tried to take a few deep breaths.

"If it doesn't, you'll have to move on."Niall answered, his eyes following the boy as he walked in the small room in the backstage.  He was leaning against the wall, arms crossed over his chest, he had brought his glasses with him and was wearing them at the moment."But hey, I'm convinced this will work out okay, so try to calm down, will you?"

"I'm trying here!" Shawn protested, yet he knew he wasn't trying hard enough. He had to focus on the crowd that would be there watching him that night rather than making up things with Signe. He heard the crowd shout once Charlie Puth started opening the concert, his mind settling itself a little, by the thought of having to try to make those people night worth it. Time was ticking, counting down to the moment of truth. That night, two scenarios could happen. The first one, being Signe accepting him back, who knows, the two getting back the wonderful relationship they had before - with more improvements, it might seem unlike, but that break up had made Shawn grow up - and move forward in his life again, with his girl by his side. The second one, was him being rejected by the girl, suffer a humiliation - he was aware it could happen and it wouldn't be the girl's fault - fail the rest of the concert and try to move on, knowing he had lost the one for him over a stupid mistake.

It didn't take long until he was called to get ready to go up to the stage, his mind trying to concentrate on the people watching him rather than what he would have to do halfway the concert. Soon, he was climbing the stairs that led him to the stage, his fans screamed crazily over his appearance on the stage and smiled widely, his heart racing as his eyes searched for the only person he was anxious to see in the middle of the sea of people right in front of him and he found her. He found her sitting next to Blake, their eyes meeting each other for mere seconds until she looked away and Shawn began performing, not really sure how he would handle for half a concert where he could finally try to fix things.

He kept singing, his nerves growing bigger as the moment approached. Whenever he felt like his voice would break from how nervous he was, he allowed his fans to sing for him.

Once the moment arrived and Shawn sang the last song he had planned before the song he wrote for Signe, he took a deep breath, his eyes meeting Signe again. He was currently on the small stage in the middle, now closer to his family and friends.

Oh please work he pleaded and then he took a small step forward.
