In a clear night were no clouds were present in the night sky, Miya was sitting on a cliff, looking at the ocean. Her white hair tied into a ponytail swayed with the wind as she just sat there among the dozens of flowers laid on the grassy plains. The archer looked distant among the moonlight as she quietly stared at the ocean, contemplating her thoughts about the happenings in the world.
No one knows why she does it. Even Nana, her apprentice, doesn't know where she is on the days where the moon is full. The archer just disappears with no trace whatsoever at those days and nobody knows where she is.
Except maybe one.
"Ah, so you were here this whole time." Miya heard a voice behind her. She turned around with her eyes wide to see the former elf king himself.
"King Estes.." She greeted as kneel down with a bow of respect.Even if he wasn't the king anymore as the kingdom had already fallen but she still treats him with respect of the royalty.
The archer had been with the king in many hardships of her life and he was the one that was supporting behind her, giving her the wisdom in moments that she doesn't know where to continue. She has always admired his way of guiding the people as he treated everyone equally, treating them as if he would treat himself - care, love and respect.
He is a firm believer of the Golden Rule: Do unto others what others do unto you.
"You don't need to bow my friend. I am no longer king." He stated as if it was a fact as he walked to the edge of the cliff, the moonlight illuminating him as well.
"I know that yet you had taught me a lot of things that wouldn't lead me to where I am now." She explained. "You are the one who guided me upon my destiny and whether you are throne or not, I shall treat you my king."
Estes gave her a thankful smile, clearly grateful for her kind words. "Why yes. You had grown immensely throughout the years and now you serve a better king than I." He said as he looked at the ocean.
Miya gave her king a smile. "You are still the best king I had served in my whole life." The archer exclaimed, making Estes shake his head in amusement.
"Your gratitude is appreciated but please, rise up and treat me as a friend for now on." The former king said. "I want to be with thy people in a friendly manner than being serve royally."
The archer nodded as she stood up, not minding the grass that had cling on her knees. "At your wish then, my lord."
Estes smiled as he looked up in the sky, seeing the full moon in it's beauty. "Ah, the moonlight... refreshing and calm..."
Miya looked at it and indeed felt the same. "Was it always this amazing?" She asked. The former king shook his head.
"It isn't always full and complete. The moon has to go to several phases before it goes full." Estes explained. "Just like our old people... it goes through a couple of phases before it becomes whole."
Miya frowned at the memory of the old kingdom she used to served. "Yet we got destroyed by the blood demon.." she muttered under her breath yet the former king heard it. Estes frowned.
"Every kingdom has to die someday, the cycle of life reaps through and through and cataclysms and disasters happen..." Estes stated. "We cannot really predict what our future is but we can prepare for it..."
Estes looked at the solemn look of the archer, giving his own sad look. "Sometimes.. we aren't prepare enough.."
Silence bristled across the cliff side as the two stood beside each other, looking at the moon with thoughtful expression on their faces.
"...what should we do now?" Miya asked, breaking the silence that once formed. "What shall we do for the people that had been casualties...?"
The former king closed his eyes."We shall honor them by living our lives to the fullest." Estes said. "Then honor their sacrifices as they are guided by the moon's light."
Miya nodded as she closed her eyes, silently praying for the people who died at her old kingdom. Estes did the same as both filled the ambiance of the background with silence and serenity.
"To my people...that have died for my cause..I shall honor your sacrifice by living the way I am and learning the ways on how you lived... through hardships and failures..." Estes prayed on his thoughts as his powers started to activate. The blue aura glowed across the field, causing tiny, blue lights to scattered across. Miya looked amazed at the display as the lights drop down.
"Just like before..." She thought as the former king's aura brush through the field. Memories flood in as the archer smiled at the display.
"Glory in the moonlight..." She muttered as she silently watch the moon under the flickers of blue lights. It was a sight that she is used to seeing yet she was still amazed by it.
Her king was that good after all, he never lost his touch.
Estes opened his eyes as he looked at Miya with a small smile on his face. "My people that had served me will never be forgotten as I live beside them in my heart and soul." He said as he started to walk away from the place. "I have to go now, Miya. We will meet again some other time."
The archer nodded as she bowed her head slightly in respect. "I will see you next time.. Estes." She replied, not used on greeting the former king that way. A chuckle left the former elf king's lips as he stepped out of the area, leaving the archer by her lonesome.
Miya looked at the moon once more as the area is still covered by the majestic blue light from Estes' powers. She sat back down as she continued gazing at the space, feeling more calm and serene from the confrontation of her former king.
It was the power of the moonlight and she remembers that all too well.

Honestly, keeping this at the way it is within the collection as it is a good way to have some rest throughout the high amount of words that this book is receiving throughout every remake and update. The Moonlight is perfect, just like how you view it from the ocean. I will dabble through it time to time but I will keep it short in length.
