Summary: A remake of a Dawn of Legends' chapter, Magic and Shields, which involves the growing relationship between Harley and Lolita.

"You seriously had me dragged into this place, huh?" Harley exclaimed in annoyance as he was carrying a couple of bags on his hands. Lolita chuckled as she was holding some bags as well while walking with the card magician.

"Well, I wanted someone to hang out with." She answered before she winked at him. "And carrying my bags is just a nice bonus to have~."

Harley sighed before smiling. It was on a Sunday afternoon and the two were just hanging out in the mall as the steel elf had wished. The card magician didn't mind as he always wanted to hang out with his best friend whenever she wanted to.

The two were barely seen without one another around town as the people have speculated them to be together. If asked about it alone, the two would just say no about it.

Well, that's with Lolita's case. On Harley's case on the other hand, it leaves him flustered quite a bit as he easily gets embarrassed especially when talking about love interests. The card magician didn't want to admit it but he knows himself that he likes the steel elf.

After all, she was the person that he had met first and had always stuck around him. She helped him defeat the Dark Guild before with the help from Saber and the others. Throughout that conquest, the two had become much closer to each other as they had talked constantly, knowing each other thick and thin.

With that of'course would let him develop feelings for her. Her caring attitude and her atmost desire to protect others had rubbed on him. She was the one that kept telling him to go on whenever he felt giving up.

In short, she was his light of day when things go to dark in the night.

"Harley?" She asked, making him blink before his eyes widened to see her face close to his. "Are you okay? You seemed to be a bit dazed."

A blush spread over his cheeks as he averted his eyes. "Yeah...I was just imagining stuff.." He said sheepishly, making her smile and chuckle at his reaction.

"Harley, you are so weird at times." She exclaimed in a happy tone, making his eyes roll. The two kept walking along the floor of the mall as they keep conversing with each other.

After a while, the two had finished shopping. Lolita smiled as they left the last shop that she had bought on, making the card magician carry some of the bags. Harley was struggling a bit with how many stuff she had bought but he managed as they were starting to go to the exit of the place.

"Jeez Lita." He groaned using her nickname that caught her attention. "You sure had bought quite a lot of stuff..."

The steel elf giggled. "Well, I did need to restock quite a bit of my stuff in my house." She replied before smiling at him. "Thank you for joining Harley, your help was very appreciated."
