Almost Yet Not Forgotten

Summary: Harley forgot to give Cyclops a present today since it was his birthday! But atleast what he can do is to make it better for him right? Human!Cyclops x Harley.

"Shoot! I freaking forgot about his birthday today!" A teenage male shrieked as he was running along a path as fast as his legs could carry him.

Enter Harley, the boyfriend of Cyclops, a friend that usually affectionate, charming and loving to his lover who always had been a shy type to him ever since they had started dating. Now forgetting his lover's birthday was not in Harley's agenda at all.

In fact, for him, it was a sin if he had forgotten that it was his birthday but due to unfortunate amounts of time restraints and jobs he did for the royal family, he had exceedingly gotten tired and the thought of the even slipped by his head.

Now, in jeopardy, he rushed to Cyclops' place. He may have not have a gift in hand but damn well he'll forget to attend his beloved's birthday! In a brisk pace that he ran across the path way like the wind of north blowing high, he grazed his shoes upon the grassy terrain as he immediately turned to take a shortcut.

Jumping over a fence, the young male managed to keep his momentum running off to his beloved's house. Fortunately the weather has been kind of him that it wasn't as hot as before, making it even managable for Harley to run at such speeds without worrying about being too sweaty.

Glancing at his left, he managed to see Cyclops sitting on a bench that was near his house, which looked like a library. Smiling at the turn of events, he shouted at his lover.

"Hey Cyclops!" Harley called out as he kept blazing through the grass. His eyes saw the one-eyed magician' widen his one eyes as he smiled at him, giving him a small wave.

"H-hey Harley..." Cyclops greeted shyly as the young male panted. "You seemed to be in a rush today..."

Harley smiled at him as he gave him a kiss on the cheek, making the one-eyed midget blush. "Well, wouldn't miss my beloved's birthday wouldn't I?" He replied as he sat down on the bench next to Cyclops, who was still comprehending on what just happened.

"U-uh....uh... sure." He stuttered as he left his one eye away from the young male, who chuckled at his reaction. Harley scooted over and put an arm over his shoulder as he sighed.

"Well, I forgot to give you a gift today unfortunately." He remarked sadly, making his lover look at him slowly before giving him a small smile.

"It's okay. I know you had been busy and all with the royal guards work and all that." Cyclops responded as he leaned more into Harley's embrace. "I don't blame you for forgetting. I mean, you are the only one who came to my birthday."

Harley blinked at that statement. "Eh? Where did Nana and Lolita go? Heck, even Diggie hadn't come yet?" He asked in a flurry of questions, making the midget sigh before nodding sadly.

"I had recieved their humblest apologies that they couldn't come because of work and all that." He stated with a tone of sadness in his voice. "Like you, I couldn't blame them that they couldn't spare time for me... even Diggie if he can control the time."

The young male frowned as he had his embraced tighten. "Well.. looks like it's just the two of us then." He remarked dryly, not liking that his best friends couldn't come to his lover's party. Cyclops smiled at him as he nuzzled his chest.

"Actually, I wouldn't have minded that they didn't come at all." He responded, giving his one blue eye a wink at the young male. "All I wanted is here all along so I don't mind no one else is coming to visit."

Harley blushed at his lover's comment. "I-if you say so." He stuttered out, clearly caught off guard by his comment. The midget chuckled as he felt Harley's hand stroke his purple hair.

"Well, it's your seventeenth birtday now right?" The young male asked. Cyclops nodded in confirmation as the winds sway across his face.

"Mhmm, it is." He said simply as he looked up, seeing the blue sky cleared with clouds. "I can't wait to look at the stars later! It seems like it gets better when it's on my birthday."

Harley smiled at his lover's excitement on his hobby. "Well, I'll watch it with you if you want." He offered, which made Cyclops smile at him as he said that.

"Well, if you aren't busy, you can." He responded, his eye twinkling slightly. "I mean.. it's always good to watch the stars with someone you love~"

Harley chuckled at how cute his lover sounded. "Yeah, that's true though." His hands went down and clasped the midget's right hand, causing him to redden a bit.

"I would always have time to watch the stars with you Cyc." Harley exclaimed with genuineness, tenderness and love clear on his voice as his other hand stroke his cheek. "It pains me that I forgot that today was your birthday after all, it's shameful for me to think that I forgot my lover's birthday and all that."

"Harley..." Cyclops said his name yet couldn't respond as the young male sighed before smiling at him with a grin that was all too familiar with the midget.

"And yet, you are worth the sacrifice to every single time that I rush here or anything." He remarked sweetly, making the midget blush harder as Harley leaned forward, there face closer than ever.

"And I say that... you are the star in my eyes Cyclops~" He finished as he initiated a lip lock on the midget, making him caught off guard even though it was coming.

Yet Cyclops slowly recovered and returned the kiss as the two clasped their hands together as the heated lip lock continued, blush reddening their faces as they kept on doing it.

After a while, they separated from each other, panting from running nearly out of breath from the kiss. Both of them have their individual smiles at each other as Harley wrapped an arm around Cyclops' shoulders.

"I love you Cyc." Harley said.

"I love you too." The midget responded without ounce of shyness into it. The two chuckled before cuddling up to each other as they look up in the sky, seeing the clear sky turning orange from the sunset.

There may not have been a gift for Cyclops but the greatest gift is already beside him, his arms wrapping around him like there is no tomorrow. No object, even the stars, can replace Harley no matter what happens.

Oh..dang, nobody expected me to update once again? Probably since I told everyone that I would update after the results of the voting is done. Well, this is a gift to the meme lord herself, fluffykitten231 and all the Cyley shippers out there since I don't really ship Cyley a lot in this story. (Well, it has actually been a third Cyley oneshot, more than Freylong. O_o)
