One normal day a very shy girl named Elizabeth was hanging out with her not so shy friend Lynn. Like any other day they were listening to the radio as they chatted about how their day went.
“So Elizabeth how was the math test?” Lynn asks curiously.
“Eh, hard as usual,” Elizabeth responds shrugging her shoulders.
“Mmm, sounds about right,” Lynn says looking at Elizabeth’s brand new One Direction poster.
“So where did you…” Lynn begins to say but is shushed by Elizabeth.
Up next is a chance to win backstage passes, meet and greets along with front row tickets for the one and only huge band One Direction! Keep listening for your chance to win
“Lynn did you hear that?!” Elizabeth asks shaking her best friend around like a rag doll.
“Yeah I did, wanna try and win when they say to call?” Lynn asks her eyes shining with excitement.
“Well duh!” Elizabeth responds yelling.
“What is up with all of the screaming coming from this room?” Elizabeth’s mom asks as she opens the door to Elizabeth’s room.
“They are giving out backstage passes, meet and greets and front row tickets for ONE DIRECTION!” Elizabeth says yelling One Direction.
“Alright, calm down,” her mom replies.
“can we try and win them?” Elizabeth asks not caring what her mom’s response is.
“Yeah, but good luck,” her mom replies sarcastically and leaves the door open just slightly.
“What do you mean good luck?” Elizabeth asks mocking her moms voice.
“A ton of other people are going to be trying to win as well,” her mom shouts across the hallway.
“You didn’t close the door all the way!” Elizabeth yells annoyed.
“I know!” her mom yells back with a laugh.
“Well then,” Lynn mumbles and Elizabeth nods her head in agreement.
Alright whoever wants One Direction tickets better get calling! Caller number 55 will win the tickets, good luck!
“There was the signal to call!” Elizabeth yells grabbing her cell phone.
Lynn and Elizabeth frantically start calling the radio station but each time they listen to the phone all they hear is a busy signal.
“Hearing this busy signal is deafening,” Lynn complains.
“Wait, mine is ringing!” Elizabeth yells sitting up from her original slumped position as Lynn continues to call.
“Hey, what caller am I?” Elizabeth anxiously gushes into the phone.
“You are caller number 51,” the announcer declares into the phone.
“Oh,” Elizabeth says and hangs up the phone devastated and begins to cry uncontrollably.
“Elizabeth shut up! The phone is ringing,” Lynn snaps.
Elizabeth slowly makes her way to the bathroom to clean the snot dribbling down from her nose. Elizabeth takes a tissue and begins to dab her puffy red eyes. She waddles her way back into her room and plops onto her bed. She looks over at Lynn with wide eyes and what seems to be a secret waiting to burst from her lips. Lynn looks at Elizabeth and begins to cry her eyes out, just as Elizabeth had just done but worse.
“Lynn it’s okay, we can try next time,” Elizabeth comforts Lynn rubbing her back.
Lynn tries to say something but she is crying too hard for anyone to understand a word she is saying.
“Lynn, what’s wrong?” Elizabeth asks but again couldn’t understand her best friends’ words that were trying to spill out of her mouth.
"Lynn just write it down" an annoyed Elizabeth says throwing paper and a pen at her friend.
Elizabeth watches Lynn write, her hand shakes with every word she writes. Elizabeth looks at it more closely and sees that Lynn wrote ‘I won; we are going to see and meet one direction’
“Very funny Lynn,” Elizabeth replies after scanning the paper.
“I’m not kidding; we are going to see them. And meet them!” Lynn squeals, the next thing you know Elizabeth faints and is laying on the ground unconscious.
