Everyone lies on the ground stunted by what had just happened. Niall, the nurse and Elizabeth lay there trying to keep their breaths dead silent as they hear footsteps coming toward them. The nurse, Niall and Elizabeth all inch their way to the side of the bed facing away from the door. Everyone clings to the cold metal bed; the bed that could easily become their death bed.

Just as everyone make their way over to the bed another gunshot goes off a few feet away from the door. Everyone one in the rooms heart jump out of their chest. Then another shot goes off causing Elizabeth to let out a loud gasp and then the footsteps grow closer to outside of the door.  And then with one swift kick the door flies open.

“Come out, come out where ever you are,” the shooter teases with his gun away from his body.

Not one body moves in the room, they are frozen in place. Not even able to fight off this man because they are stuck in their spot. The shooter creeps their way closer and closer to the bed.

Niall’s POV

If whoever this shooter is goes after Elizabeth I will protect her. Hell, I would even take a bullet for her. She has to know her results. She can’t die by just a bullet, she’s a fighter. I won’t let her go down like that. No way.

Elizabeth’s POV

This can’t be how my life ends. Come on, I’ve been through enough. This can’t be happening; I’m going to wake up any minute. I hope.

The shooter slowly creeps their way huffing out of breath. Just then the nurses’ phone makes a beeping noise. The phone call had been dropped.  Just as the nurse reaches for her phone another gunshot goes off; just missing her. The gun shot was so loud and powerful it made everyone in the rooms hear ring, except the shooters ears.

“You better come out now,” the shooter taunts as the nurses blood runs cold.

Silence. Dead silence. The only sound in the room is the echo from the gunshot. Then another shot is fired, causing the room to echo more. But this time the room echoes so much it causes the shooter to lose their balance. The shooter stumbles slightly and then knocks over a vase for flowers on the other side of the room. The shooter stumbles a bit more and then slices their hand open with the vase.

“Shit,” the shooter curses under their breath and makes their way over to a cupboard and then begins to raid it.

“Really? No bandages,” the shooter mumbles, they catch a bit of cloth out of the corner of their eye.

The shooter makes their way over to where they saw the cloth, slowly creeping their way over there and then the cloth moves. The shooter loads his gun again and brings it out in front of them.

Elizabeth’s POV

They saw my shirt. We are going to die because of me. Unless….

Just as the thought comes to Elizabeth’s head she does it. She lies on the ground playing dead. Niall and the nurse see what Elizabeth did and quickly do the same. Barely laying down before the shooter makes their way over to where they ‘died’.  The shooter hovers over the bodies closely examining them.  He sees the nurse take one breath. One breath told the shooter they were faking it. And then BANG. Another shot fired, just missing the nurse. Just as the shooter brings their gun up again to shoot, they hear the faint sound of police sirens in the distance. The shooter runs immediately; their blood gushing with every step.

“Niall I love you, always remember that,” Elizabeth whispers and then places a kiss on Niall’s forehead.

“Why are you talking like that?” Niall asks sitting up slightly.

“Niall, I have to do this,” Elizabeth mumbles and then runs out of the door.

Niall gets up chasing after her but can’t catch up to her; he’s too weak and just lets her run.

“I love you too,” Niall mumbles under his breath as a tear escapes his eye.

Shooter’s POV

Where do I go now? I can’t go down like this. I’m so weak though, that stupid vase made me lose so much blood…

The shooter continues to run down the hallway, and then he crashes into someone, they are now face to face. Elizabeth looks at the shooter like a deer in head lights; scared but powerful.

“Why are you doing this? Killing people?” Elizabeth asks registering who the shooter is.

All the shooter does is look away, with their face full of anger.

“Look at me, why are you doing this? What did these people ever do to you?” Elizabeth says sternly.

All the shooter does is look Elizabeth right in the eyes and then places their gun to the temple of Elizabeth’s head.

“You can turn your life around, don’t do this,” Elizabeth says as she feels the cold circle on her head.

The shooter just looks at her with the most stolid look. Elizabeth’s heart is about to explode, she knows this is the end. This is where her life is going to end. In the man’s arms she thought that she would come back and visit. Jackson’s.

“This is the police put your arms where we can see them!” a man shouts.

Just as Jackson realizes the police are here he runs, dragging Elizabeth with him.  Clamping down on Elizabeth’s arm, forcing her along with him. Elizabeth is dragged up a flight of stairs and then is met with a bone-chilling breeze.

“Jackson. Look at me. You can turn yourself in. You can turn your life around,” Elizabeth pleads but is only met with the cold metal gun on her temple once again.

“No one would listen to me,” Jackson screams.

“I’m listening,” Elizabeth coaxes.

Jackson brings the gun away from Elizabeth’s head, causing her to sigh a little in relief.

“You know how Niall and Luke are sooo famous?” Jackson asks looking at Elizabeth.

“Yeah,” Elizabeth says motioning for him to continue.

“That’s all I’ve ever wanted my whole life. All I wanted was to be adored by that many fans,” Jackson says looking over the edge of the roof at the cars passing by.

“You do have fans,” Elizabeth says looking into his eyes.

“No I don’t,” Jackson mumbles.

“Yes you do, do you know how many people’s lives you have saved by being a doctor?” Elizabeth praises.

“I’m not even a real doctor, I faked it. That’s what my parents wanted me to do,” Jackson says with an angry face balling his fists at his side.

“Well this isn’t the way to get where you want in life,” Elizabeth says and then a cop barges the door down, causing Jackson and Elizabeth to be surrounded by cops.

“YOU SET ME UP!” Jackson screams and then holds Elizabeth at gun point again.

“No I didn’t! I swear!” Elizabeth pleads gasping for air.

“I don’t believe you,” Jackson says and then with all of his momentum he flings him and Elizabeth off the roof; plummeting to the hard concrete below.
