The Police (chapter 38)

“Yes, I understand... ok, ok” Niall says nodding his head, then hangs up the phone

“What did they say?” Josh’s mom asks with glossy eyes.

“They said they would have a cop car out her within the next ten minutes” Niall says confidently.

Josh’s POV

Ugh, has anybody realized about the stupid secret message? I’m dying here. It still hurts to breath but I can’t keep going on like this.

Luke walks in confidently staring at a terrified Josh.

“Have a nice sleep?” he asks evilly.

“Sure, I guess.” Josh says quietly.

“So since you pulled that stupid stunt with the phone your phone is blowing up” Luke says looking around.

“So? I didn’t even tell them I was here. I acted like it was normal” Josh lies through his teeth.

“Yeah, you are lucky you didn’t otherwise I probably would have just killed you on the spot” Luke spats through his teeth.

“Why haven’t you killed me yet then? Josh asks.

“Because I want you to suffer like I had to when I saw Elizabeth with another…” Luke starts to explain.

“I’m not even with her anymore so why do you…” josh starts to say but is slapped across the face again.

“I told you NOT to interrupt me! Anyway I just want you to suffer because you were with her at some point. And hopefully I can get my hands on Niall and do the same to him” Luke says and laughs.

“You will never get away with it!” Josh screams at Luke.

“Oh yes I will.” Luke says

Then everything went black for Josh. again.

“Well, officer. If Josh was taken he didn’t want to just text out ‘help me’ it would have blew his cover of asking for help and having a chance to get help” Niall explains to the officer.

“Yeah, that does make sense... But why wouldn’t he just call the police?” the officer questions.

“Because he didn’t want to do the most obvious thing he could have” Niall responds.

“Makes sense, let me see these texts with the secret message” the officer says putting out her hand.

She looks at them, putting what they had said all together.

“This boy is very clever. I would have never guessed that it had a secret message and I’m a paid officer *she laughs* who figured this out?” she asks looking around the room.

Niall shyly raises his hand blushing.

“Well you may be a hero. But before we go breaking down his doors we need to get the paper work to do so” the officer says.

“Ok, and how long could this take?” Josh’s mom asks worried.

“Well since this is a kidnapping case right away. I’ll call in the morning to inform you guys when we are doing the break in.” The officer says messing with her keys.

“Thank you” Josh’s mom says on the verge of tears.

“It’s my job Mrs. Smith Now go and get some sleep, tomorrow will be a long day” The officer says closing the door.

“I should really take Elizabeth home, she looks very tired” Niall says yawning.

“Ok.. Niall, erm, thank you for coming and talking to us.” Josh’s dad says awkwardly right before Niall and Elizabeth leave.

“No problem, thanks for listening” Niall says with a smile and closes the door.

Elizabeth and Niall are in the car. Elizabeth slowly drifts into a deep sleep during the car ride.

Niall’s POV

Well we are at her house, but she is asleep. I don’t want to wake her up…

Niall picks her up bridal style and carries her, causing her to fidget a little.

“Niall, you are a hero” Elizabeth says half asleep.

Niall smiles from ear to ear and puts her down on her bed

“Hey Niall” Elizabeth says a little more awake.

“Yes princess?” Niall asks turning around.

“Can you stay here for the night? I don’t want you to go” Elizabeth asks.

“Of course” Niall says getting into bed with her.

They snuggle. Niall gets close to Elizabeth.

“I love you” Niall says tickling Elizabeth’s ear with his breath.

Elizabeth’s POV

This is just like the first night he said ‘I love you’ to me.

“I love you to” Elizabeth says drifting into a restless sleep.
