What am I suppose to say? Oh I think your son has been kidnapped… That’s brilliant…
Niall pulls into Josh’s parent’s driveway
“Niall I don’t know about this… what if this was a way for Josh to get me to come to his house?” Elizabeth asks worried.
“But what if it’s not and he needs some help?” Niall tells Elizabeth knocking on the door.
“Oh, hello Elizabeth” Josh’s dad says eyeing up Niall and makes a disgusted face
Niall’s POV
Nice to meet you to… oh yeah it must be because of my tattoos and piercings…
“Elizabeth come in with your… friend” Josh’s mom says looking Niall up and down.
“So, what you brings you here?” Josh’s mom asks offering Elizabeth a glass of water.
“Well… ummm... Have you checked your phone lately?” Elizabeth asks.
“No I have not, why do you ask?” Josh’s mom says confused.
“Maybe you should?” Elizabeth means to state but it comes out as a question.
she does, her eyes skim the text quickly but carefully.
“What does the text say?” Josh’s dad asks concerned.
Elizabeth’s POV
What is going on?
Josh’s mom says “Lacrosse practice went a little too long. U can pick me up around 10:30. Keep calm if I don’t show up, you never know how long this meeting could go. Everyone is so nice here. However people are really loud here. Actually some people are mean here, oh well. So don’t worry about me, just have fun with dad! Meet me at the park when you pick me up! Everything is going great.”
“Josh doesn’t play lacrosse… Why would he say he was at a meeting?” Josh’s mom asks confused.
“Wait I don’t mean to be noisy but can I please see that text?” Niall asks right after she says it.
Elizabeth’s POV
Why does Niall want to see the text? He must be on to something.
“Sure?” Josh’s mom asks confused.
“Just as I thought!” Niall screams.
“What did you think?” Josh’s dad asks sternly
“There’s a secret message in that text. Read every letter of the first sentence.”
“L-U-K-E-H-A-S-M-E” Josh’s mom spells out confused.
“Oh my god Niall, my text spelled out help me. Then hers spelt out Luke has me…” Elizabeth says worried.
“What do you mean?” Josh’s mom asks concerned.
“Mr. Smith did you get any texts from Josh?” Niall asks Josh’s dad.
“Um yeah,” Josh’s dad says taking out his phone.
Then he starts to read the text out loud.
“Had a great night! I met a ton of new people. So I think I will stay until 11 o’clock. Hugo might let me sleepover at his house. Of course I would need your permission. U can text me anytime, I’ll try to respond. So text me when you can. Earl might come over to, bye!” Josh’s dad finishes.
“Let me see that one to.” Niall asks eagerly.
He reads the letters out loud ‘H-I-S-H-O-U-S-E’
“His house” Josh’s mom says.
“What does this all mean?” Josh’s dad asks.
“Well if you put all of our messages together it creates a sentence. Help me Luke has me his house” Niall says.
“Now do we call the police?” Elizabeth asks.
Niall looks at Josh’s parents, they are nodding their heads yes, with glossy eyes.
Niall begins to push the numbers to call the police.
