December 25 2016 Christmas

It's 7am and everyone is already wide awake and downstairs. David is still sleeping and I woke up a few minutes ago.

"Pookie. Wake up." I kiss his cheek and he stirs.

"Why?" He says sleeply.

"Because it's Christmas morning."

"Oh yeah. Lemme get something before we go downstairs." He gets out of bed and walks to his desk. He lifts up a picture frame and hidden behind it is a small black box. He picks it up and walks back to me.

"David. What are you doing?" I say with a worried tone and he smiles.

"Its not what you think it is, trust me." He opens it and there is a beautiful ring with a gray, shiny stone it the middle. (The promise ring David gave to Liza in real life.)

"Oh my God." I feel my eyes gather tears and I try to blink them back but it doesn't work. David looks up at me and he smiles.

"I didn't mean to make you cry, it's only a promise ring." He wipes a tear off my cheek with his thumb and leaves his hand there.

"I'm not crying because I'm upset, I'm crying because this is so sweet." I say through small tears and he smiles again. He puts the ring on my finger and I admire it.

"Come here." He pulls me into a loving hug and kisses my forehead.

"I love you." My voice if muffled by his shirt so he lets go of me.

"I love you to. Now let's go downstairs and open some presents!" He stands up and trys to pull me out the door but I stop.

"I can't go out there looking like this." I point to my face and he stops pulling me.

"You look fine babe."

"If my mom sees that I've been crying she'll think something bad happen." I say and he nods.

"Ok." I go to the bathroom and rinse my face with water. I quickly dry my face and go back to David's room.

"Now let's go." I say looking at my ring and he grabs my hand. We walk downstairs and admire the tree with all its presents under it.

"Merry Christmas! There's food in the kitchen and after food we'll open presents!" Dawn says happly clapping her hands.

"Good morning swearheart! Merry Christmas!" Mom says hugging me.

"Merry Christmas mom! Look at what David gave me before we came down!" I hold up the ring and her jaw drops.

"What?!" Mom yells and David jumps. She turns towered him and he looks at me with wide eyes.

"Mom! It's just a promise ring!" I say and she turns towered me again.

"Oh. Well I fell dumb." She says and smiles.

"I though the same thing you were when he pulled out the box." We giggle and walk into kitchen. We eat some breakfast and finish a few minutes later.

"Presents!!!" Toby yells and jumps on the couch.

"Toby! Get down!" Dawn says and he sits on the floor.

"Everyone grab a present with your name on the tag." Mom says and everyone does.

"I'm gonna count to 3 and you can all open them ok? These are from me and Jean." Dawn explains and Toby tilts his head.

"Who's Jean?" He asks I look at mom.
