August 24 2016 Thursday
"Hello?" David says through the phone
"Is this David?" I ask nervously
"Yes, who is this?" David says slowly
"This is Liza, um, can you hold on for a moment?"
"Oh uh, yeah sure thing." David says before I press mute and look at Gabbie.
"What am I supposed to do?! What do I say!? Do I ask him out? Do I let him ask me out?! Gabbie please help I'm so confused!" I say quickly and Gabbie takes the phone from me.
"Hey David this is Gabbie, Liza's best friend."
Gabbie stands up from my bed and walks into the bathroom. I try to follow but she slams the door in my face. I can't hear what she is saying so I sit back on my bed.
"Ok, here she is." Gabbie says walking out of the bathroom and giving me the phone.
"Hey David, what did Gabbie say?"
"She said some stuff I can't repeat.... But I have a question for you."
"Haha ok, whats the question?" I look at Gabbie and she is smiling. I really want to know what she said that David can't repeat.
"Do you want to have dinner with me Saturday?" David says and I scream on the inside.
"Yeah, what place?" I ask trying so hard not to explode.
"It's a surprise! I'll pick you up at 7?"
"Ok!" I say getting ready to explode.
"Bye ba- I mean Liza" David stutters then immediately hangs up not letting me say anything else.
"AHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!! YES YES YES!!!!!! IM SO EXCITED!!!!" I exploded.
"HE ALMOST CALLED YOU BABE!!!" Gabbie jumps up from my bed and yells.
"He did?! My heart was pounding so loud I could barely hear him!" I say as I put my head in my hands.
"He did!! Let's go shopping for your date!"
"It's Thursday, the date is Saturday, we have time." I grab my phone and save David's number. I leave the profile picture blank and put David 😝
"I don't care when it is we are going shopping now!!" Gabbie pulls me off the bed and hands me my sandals.
"Fine, should I wear a dress or something more casual?" We walk out to my car and start driving to the mall.
2 hours later in forever 21
"Gabbie I like this dress." I found a kinda basic, cute, black dress. (picture at top of the page)
"Oh that's adorable! I've noticed that David only wears black so he will love that! Go pay for it and I'll get you some matching shoes!"
Gabbie runs off to get me shoes and I pay $30 for my dress. She comes back with a pair of cute, black heels.
"I'll pay for your shoes Liza, think of it has a very late birthday present!" Gabbie says walking backwards to the counter.
"I'll be by the makeup cart over there" I say walking to a makeup cart across the mall walkway.
August 25 2017 Friday
I see David at his locker and I sneak up to scare him. Right before I scare him he turns around and our faces are an inch apart. He keeps looking back and forth between my lips and my eyes. I take a quick step back and go to my locker.
