Halloween Ch.23

October 31 2016 Halloween

David and I already have out costumes picked out. We are doing a couples costume, Santa and an elf. We put on some onesies. We are going to one of Zane's parties tonight so David is sitting with me on my bed.

"The party starts at 8 right?" David says and I nod.

"Yeah. What time is it?"

"6:52" David checks his phone and puts it back on my night stand.

"Ok. We should leave by 8."

"But the party starts at 8."

"Do you want to be the first ones there?" I shake my head and he nods.

"No. That'll make us look lame." I say and he laughs.

"Yup."

On the way to the party

"Ok let's go." I jump out of the car and David gets out slowly.

"I don't wanna go."

"How come?"

"Parties just aren't my thing." He sits on his seat with his legs hanging out of the car. I walk around and stand in front of him.

"I don't like parties either but we need to go, I already told Gabbie I would be here. We don't have to stay the whole time."

"I'm not going to enjoy this."

"You might." I say and pull him out of his seat. I pull him along until we get to front door, which is slightly open.

I push open the door and the smell of alcohol hits me in the face. A guy I don't reconize walks in front of me totally drunk and slurring his words.

"Heeey baaabbbbyyy! You wanna gooo have some fuuuuuunn?" He can't balance so he grips into the door. David puts his hands on my waist and puts his body against mine.

"No. I'm ok." I say and awkwardly walk into the living room. Music is blaring over the speakers and everyone is dancing.

"You wanna help me find Gabbie?" I stand on my tippy toes so I can talk in David's ear.

"Yeah. I have an idea of were she might be." He stands behind me and wraps his arms around my waist. He guides me through the terribly dancing people and outside.

"Outside?" The music is a little quieter so I can talk normal.

"This is where the gang goes to hang out."

"Ok." He puts one arm around my waist and nudges me forward, walking side by side with me.

"Hey guys." David says and fist bumps Scotty.

"Hey man. Hey Liza." Scotty says and smiles at me.

"This your girlfriend Dave?" A tall boy with black hair points at me and I look down.

"Yeah. Liza this is Toddy, Toddy this is Liza." I look up and Toddy smiles at me.

"Hey what about me?" An older boy says with a cigeret in his mouth.

"Fine, Liza that's Heath, Heath this is Liza."

"Hi." I say quitly and David smiles.

"Why is she so quite? And why are you smiling David?" Heath says and I look down.
