"David, David, David, David, David!" I yell running down the stairs to meet him on the couch.
"What's up, babe?" He asks and I smile.
"Guess what?!" I say excitedly and he sits up straight.
"What?" He asks and smiles at my excitement.
"Disneyland is having a sale for tickets. If you by 2, and only 2, you get a pass to go to the front of any ride!" I say and he nods.
"Cool, we're not going to Disneyland." He says and I sit down next to him.
"Please?" I plead and he shakes his head.
"Babe, I'm not taking you to Disneyland." He says and I frown.
"Fine." I say and sigh.
"Aww, don't be sad." He says pulling me back so I'm laying against him.
"But I wanna go." I say and he nods.
"Maybe in the future." He says and he tickles my side. I jump up from my spot and giggle. He smiles and I kick his leg. Mom comes out of her room and I turn around to face her.
"Hi mom!" I say and she smiles.
"Hi. How's it goin'?" She asks and I smile.
"Its goin' good. How's your ankle?" I ask and she shuffles in her crutches.
"Its, uhh... healing, I guess." She says and looks down at her cast.
"Good." I say and there's an awkward pause.
"I'm going to the store, wanna come?" Mom asks and I nod.
"Sure. I'll be back soon, David." I turn around and glance at David before walking to the door.
"I'll be here." He says and smiles at me.
"Buh bye." I say and open the door.
"Bye." He says and I help mom out the door. We go to the car and I help mom get into the passengers seat. We drive to the store and go inside.
"What are we here for?" I ask and mom shrugs.
"Dawn sent me a list. I wanna repay her for letting me stay with her while my ankle heals, so the least I could do is buy groceries." She explains and i nod. I grab a cart and mom unlocks her phone. She pulls up a small list and reads the first thing.
"Taco shells." She says and we look for the taco shells. We find it and put it in the cart.
"Meat." She says and we look for the meat.
"I think we're having tacos tonight." I say and mom smiles.
"I think so." She says and we continue our search for the meat. We get everything else in the list and go back to David's house. We put all the groceries in the kitchen and away in the fridge. I go back into the living room to see David sitting in the exact position he was in before I left.
"You really haven't moved since I left?" I say and he looks up from his phone.
"You were only gone for a few minutes." He says and I smile.
"I've been gone for about 45 minutes." I say and he looks at me with a confused look.
"Really?" He says and I nods.
"Yes really." I say and he nods.
"Good to know." He says and looks at his phone again. I lay next to him and he puts his phone on the arm of the couch.
"Let's go on a walk." I say and he looks at me tilting his head.
"A walk?"
"Yes, a walk." I say and he nods. We stand up and walk outside.
"Where to, my love?" He asks and I smile.
"Let's just walk... this way." I point in a direction and he nods.
"Ok, let's go." He grabs my hand and we walk.
"So, what's goin' on?" I ask and he chuckles.
"What's goin' on? Am I that friend you forgot about cause you haven't seen them in a while?" He says laughing and I giggle.
"No! I just want to talk." I say smiling.
"About what?" He asks and I shrug.
"I don't know. Let's play that game... what's it called?" I say trying to think of what the game is called.
"Well I can't help you remember it if I don't know what it is." He says and I nod.
"Its the one where I ask a question about myself and you answer it. Like... what's my favorite color?" I give an example and he nods.
"That's a trick question. You have 3 favorite colors, black, white, and gray." He says and I nod.
"Yeah, let's play that game." I say and he smiles.
"This is gonna be easy." He says and I smile.
"Ok, you ask a question first." I say and he thinks.
"This one's easy. What's my favorite color?" He says and and smile.
"Black." I say and he smiles.
"Yellow." He says and I hang my mouth open.
"Really?!" I ask and he shakes his head.
"No, it's black." He says and I hit his arm.
"Don't do that, it confused me!" I say and he nods while smiling.
"Ok. Your turn." He says and I think about a hard question.
"Umm..." I say looking at the ground to think.
"Wow that's a hard one. I don't know, popcorn?" He says and I look at him with a confused look.
"What? I didn't even say anything!" I say giggling and he smiles.
"Oh, I got one. What's my favorite subject in school?" I ask and he glares at me.
"You don't have one favorite subject, it's all of them except PE." He says and I smile.
"I know." I say and he rolls his eyes.
"Who is my best friend?" He asks and I smile.
"Hmm... tie between me and Alex... Alex?" I say joking with him because I know it's me.
"No!" He says and I smile.
"I know." I say and David smiles. We walk in comfortable silence before we realize we are right back at David's house.
"Wait... what?! We didn't even make any turns!" He says and I laugh.
"This is weird!" I say and we laugh. We go inside and immediately sit on the couch. We pretty much sit there for the rest of the day.
