-Chapter Two Hundred and Forty-One-
-Skylar's P.O.V-
Sluggishly dragging myself down the hallway, I rubbed at my throbbing head as I tried to find the energy to pick up the pace. As I walked, I couldn't help but wonder...
How are the others doing?
Are they okay?
My head soon perked up to the sound of footsteps rushing my way as I lowered my hand and looked up.
"Hey, Chopper!" I called out to the reindeer the minute he ran past.
"Ahh! Skylar, are you alright?!" screeching to a halt, he worriedly began to fret over me the moment he saw my disheveled self. His eyes practically bulged out of his skull as he took in the dried blood that coated and flaked off my arms and face.
"Depends on your definition of alright" I shrugged before holding up the key that was clutched in my hand. "Took down one of the CP9 agents—how are you and the others doing?" I asked. "Also, before you asked, this isn't my blood...well, most of it isn't" I quickly added, murmuring the last part to myself as I didn't want him to think I was possibly bleeding to death at this very moment.
"I don't know about Sanji, Franky, and Nami, but Zoro and Sniper King are handcuffed together and currently being chased by some giraffe and wolf guy—wait!" he shouted after finally processing what I said. "You said you defeated one of the CP9 agents?" he asked, watching as I nodded. "Quick! What's the number on your key?!"
"Huh? Number?" I questioned, squinting down at the key in my hand before just handing it over to him when I realized my vision was still a bit too bleary to make out the raised and painted number at the bottom of the key.
"No, this isn't the one! I need to find key two!" and with that, he shoved the key back into my hand and raced down the hallway. Leaving me to rub my head in confusion before shrugging as I curiously turned toward the direction he had just come from.
"Handcuffed together? I have got to see this..." I mumbled, walking until I finally came across a room with an open doorway. Curiously peeking inside, I was quick to take note of just how peaceful the room looked as it gave off the illusion of an outdoor garden instead of a room inside a tower. Letting my gaze wander, I eventually looked at the four people—well two people and two animals—in the room. "Huh? Chopper wasn't lying, you guys really are handcuffed together" I remarked from the doorway, instantly catching Zoro and Sniper King's attention as they continued to from the wolf and giraffe that was chasing after them.
"Skylar, what are you doing here?" Zoro asked, brows furrowing in concern as I tilted my head. Wincing just a little the moment I scratched the back of it, causing it to throb in protest at the movement.
"You look awful—did you go up against one of those CP9 agents?" Sniper King asked.
"Yeah, I did" I nodded. "I ran into Chopper just a while ago and since I can't really find the place I need to go, I thought I'd come and check up on your two" I said before turning my head to the side as my lips twitched upwards into a small smile. "Pfft! How'd you even get handcuffed together in the first place?" I chuckled.
"It's a long story" the two said.
"Oh?" I nodded, even more curious now to know how this had happened. "Well, do you at least need any help?" I asked, already starting to take a step into the room.
"No! We can handle this ourselves—stay over there" Zoro firm frown on his face as he maintained eye contact with me even as he continued to run. Heaving a heavy sigh at the look in his eyes, I nodded as my smile widened only a little at how cute his worry was. Of course he wouldn't want me to engage in another fight so soon when I already looked like I had been through hell and back. "You said you defeated one of those CP9 agents? Do you have key two then?" he asked.
