A/N: Important, please read!

This might be the longest chapter I write in this story, maybe not, maybe they'll be another one somewhere down the road. One thing I want to make clear is this whole chapter is Skylar's past...or at least the important bits that I believe give you an idea of just what her life was like as a child. Since this story is still ongoing and I'm writing it with each episode I watch, there might be more stuff added to her past later on. But the information I'm about to relay to you has been planned since I created this story, I will be telling the events from Cloud's birth to Sora and Skylar's eighth birthday—all of it is going to be told in a third person point of view.

Just a fair warning, this isn't going to be a happy chapter. This chapter contains: child abuse, child neglect, animal abuse, harsh language, and probably more. It's not going to be pretty, this chapter highlights all the important information that I feel that you should know about Skylar's past. Any memories or information that had been showcased back in previous chapters will not be mentioned as this is more focused on the big key points in Skylar's childhood. With that said, enjoy the chapter and let me know what you think.

-Chapter Three Hundred and Ten-

Cloud – Birth:

Bitterly did Varen glare down at the floor as he listened to the blonde beside him curse up a storm that could easily put any sailor to shame. Her forehead was drenched in sweat and her cheeks were flushed as she loudly screamed at the top of her lungs.

"This fucker's ripping me apart!" she loudly howled, causing the doctor at the end of the bed flinch from her sudden outburst—nervously casting a glance up at her before direction he attention back down. She truly wasn't of noble blood like the man stationed near her bedside was. Varen could only roll his eyes at her overdramatic statement, how it made his blood boiled knowing he was now married to this wretch. How her lack of elegance and grace practically disgusted him as he looked down at her from the corner of his eye—unamused by the both the sight and the sounds she made as she laid there, continuing to scream...

It was just his luck that in his drunken state he had been the one to knock up the local whore down near the bar—a real beauty who had appeared some years ago and all too quickly captured the hearts of the men of the island, making a name for herself among the whores and prostitute that lingers and found work down in the slums and around the bars that were known to be frequented by noble men who didn't wish for their wives do know what they were doing. He could still clearly recall just how enraged his father was upon hearing the news, rather quick to start preparations in arranging for an unwanted marriage between his son and this whore. He could still clearly recall how quick he had been to return his father's anger in retaliation with claims that he didn't wish to marry and would rather leave her out in the street with the brat.

"How dare you do something like this! Do you know the shame you'll bring to this family if people were to find out that you—the newest Admiral of the World Government—left a young woman and the child to starve? This marriage will happen whether you like it or not!" is what his father had sneered back at him in response to his protests. Using pride and shame as his defense to justify this unwanted marriage instead of letting the woman rot out in the street along with the brat that he had no doubt she would have just thrown away and been rid of if his father hadn't began to meddle.

All too quickly after all was said and done, he was then married to her with the only good news being that his father had passed away of a heart attack now two weeks later...yes, how pleasantly shocking it had been to hear that a man as healthy as his father had suddenly suffered from a very violent and unexpected heart attack. Varen was soon drawn from his thoughts by a sudden cry, one that was much louder and more obnoxious than the whores as he bitterly looked towards the doctor that held the newborn child in his hands.
