-Chapter Three Hundred and Thirty-

"Have I told you what people called me?" Usopp asked as the room was slowly filling with water. "I was the "Submarine of the East Blue," that's 'cause I could swim an eighty-two-foot pool in no time at all!" he boasted.

"Eighty-two feet? I could run over a pool that tiny" Brook chuckled. "That's one advantage to being a skeleton, I'm light as air."

"You know what? We should have a race one of these days to see which one of us is faster!" Usopp eagerly suggested, his lips drawn back into a wide smile as I chuckled at their enthusiasm.

"Anytime you're in the mood to lose, I'll be more than happy to let you eat my dust" Brook said as the two burst out into joyful laughter before the skeleton leaned over the edge of the cage. "That is if we ever get out of here!" he suddenly cried.

"Yeah, this is not looking good for us!" Usopp wailed as the two started to babble over one another, once again rocking the cage back and forth in their frantic state.

"And they're already back at it again..." I sighed, leaning back against the cage as I tilted my head upwards and let my eyes flutter shut.

"Shut up!" Zoro finally snapped, scaring the two silent.

"Hey, how is it you and Skylar can sit there with your eyes closed like nothing's going on?" Usopp frowned as I peeked an eye open to peer at him.

"Oh, I know, they must be coming up with a plan to set us free" Brook suggested as I lightly shook my head back and forth, a blank stare on my face.

"Nope" Zoro and I simply said.

"You couldn't have lied?" Usopp frowned.

"They'll be honest to the bitter end—wow..." Brook lightly laughed, bringing a small smile to my lips.

"Everything would be fine if I had a sword" Zoro frowned.

"I don't think that's true" Usopp responded.

"I don't know, maybe if I had something small or sharp we could have possibly picked the locks of our binds...though there is the problem of our hands being unable to, you know, move" I said, already seeing a flaw in my idea which caused Zoro and Usopp to sweat drop.

"Things have gotten bleak" Brook suddenly said as he faced away from us, catching our attention as we turned toward him. "I didn't want to do this in front of you, but so be it" he ominously said.

"Uh...do what exactly?" Usopp asked.

"Yeah, what is it you're planning on doing?" I curiously tilted my head, eyebrows raising in amusement as the skeleton started making weird sounds—his jaws wide open as the room seemed to just darken a little.

"Okay, Brook, you're really starting to freak me out here" Usopp frowned. "Stop, that's enough" he glared.

"No, keep going—I want to see where this goes" I said, lightly pushing Usopp aside to get a better look at the skeleton. My eyes were wide with curiosity and awe as he suddenly shouted before a wisp of green smog came shooting out of his gaping mouth.

"Kaboom! And I'm out!" the green smog spoke as its cloudy body formed the shape of Brook's skull and afro—it even spoke in his voice and had his laugh. Usopp and Zoro stared in shock, even I had trouble processing what I was seeing for a second before literal stars dazzled around me in wonder as I stared at what I could only assume was my friend's soul. Usopp soon broke out of his shocked stupor, screaming at the top of his lungs as the soul started to float away. "Well, good luck you guys" he called back.
