-Chapter Three Hundred and Thirty-

"Have I told you what people called me?" Usopp asked as the room was still slowing filling with water. "I was the "Submarine of the East Blue" that's 'cause I could swim an eighty-two-foot pool in no time at all!" he boasted.

"Eighty-two feet? I could run over a pool that tiny" Brook chuckled. "That's one advantage to being a skeleton, I'm light as air" he said.

"You know what? We should have a race one of these days to see which one of us is faster!" Usopp eagerly suggested, his lips drawn back into a wide smile as I chuckled at their enthusiasm.

"Anytime you're in the mood to lose, I'll be more than happy to let you eat my dust" Brook said as the two burst out into joyful laughter before the skeleton leaned out and over the edge of the cage. "That is if we ever get out of here!" he suddenly cried out.

"Yeah, this is not looking good for us!" Usopp cried as the two started to babble over one another, once again rocking the cage back and forth in their frantic state.

"And they're already back at it again" I said, heaving a small sigh as I leaned back against the cage and tilted my head upwards as I let my eyes flutter shut.

"Shut up!" Zoro finally snapped, scaring the two silent.

"Hey, how is it you and Skylar can sit there with your eyes closed like nothing's going on?" Usopp frowned as I peeked one of my eyes open to peer at him.

"Oh, I know, they must be coming up with a plan to set us free" Brook suggested as I lightly shook my head back and forth, a blank stare on my face.

"Nope" Zoro and I simply said.

"You couldn't have lied?" Usopp frowned.

"They'll be honest to the bitter end—wow" Brook lightly laughed, bringing a small smile to my lips.

"Everything will be fine if I had a sword" Zoro said.

"I don't think that's true" Usopp responded.

"I don't know, if I had my throwing knives we could have possibly picked the locks of our binds...though there is the problem of our hands being unable to, you know, move" I said, already seeing a flaw in my own idea which caused Zoro and Usopp to sweat drop.

"Things have gotten bleak" Brook suddenly said, catching all of our attention as we turned to face the skeleton that now faced away from us. "I didn't want to do this in front of you, but so be it" he ominously said.

"Uh...do what exactly?" Usopp asked.

"Yeah, what is it you're planning on doing?" I curiously asked with the tilt of my head. Eyebrows raising in amusement as the skeleton before us started making weird sounds, his jaws wide open as the room seemed to darken just a little.

"Okay, Brook, you're really starting to freak me out here" Usopp frowned. "Stop, that's enough" he glared.

"No, keep going—I want to see where this leads" I said, lightly pushing Usopp aside to get a better look at the skeleton, eyes now wide with curiosity and awe as he suddenly shouted before a wisp of green smog came shooting out of his gaping mouth.

"Kaboom! And I'm out" the green smog spoke as its cloudy body formed the shape of Brook's skull and afro—it even spoke in his voice and had his laugh. Usopp and Zoro seemed to stare in shock and even I had trouble processing what I was seeing for a second before literal stars dazzled around me in wonder as I stared at what I could only assume was my friend's soul. Usopp soon broke out of his shocked stupor, screaming at the top of his lungs as the soul started to float away. "Well, good luck you guys" he called back.
