-Chapter Three Hundred and Eighteen-

"The surface is already so far away" Robin remarked as she stared around at the surrounding water, chancing a peek upwards as the light of the sun slowly began to get further and further away.

"What a view" Franky whistled. "I've been under before—but portholes on a submarine, they've got nothing on this" he grinned.

"It is quite lovely—kind of takes away the fear that we're underwater in just a bubble" I smiled, admiring the beauty that was the sea—there was just something so soothing about it. Even more so now that we were beneath the waves and could actually see the life that was brimming beneath them.

"We're sinking! We're sinking!" Chopper whimpered, already fearing the worst. "What if we get a leak? This is freaking me out!" he cried.

"Yeah, it feels like we're leaving the whole world behind" Nami agreed. "It's eerie" she shivered.

"That's because under the sea isn't meant for humans—it's cold, dark, and an entirely different world from our own" I mindlessly said, staring upwards. "It's eerie in the sense that our minds understand that this isn't our world and that if it wasn't for this bubble, we'd all be drowning."

"That's a comforting thought..." Nami sweat dropped.

"No big deal, I've done this like a bajillion times before—it's cool" Usopp nervously told himself as he loudly gulped. "Nope, not pooping my pants at all here."

"The ocean sure is awesome!" Luffy awed, bringing a smile to my lips.

"Yeah, it is..." I breathed in agreement, gaze softening.

"Look at that—they really are trees, huh?" Brook pointed, catching Nami and Luffy's attention as they ran over to the ship's railing to see where the skeleton was looking.

"Wow! I totally forgot about that!" Luffy grinned as he stared at the roots of the massive trees that made up Sabaody Archipelago.

"They're giant Mangroves—you can't tell when you're up top, but it sure is quite a sight to see from down here" Sanji said.

"The majesty of nature is just truly humbling! Why my eyes would be popping out of my skull—if I had any eyes to speak of I mean!" Brook laughed.

"Who cares? I've seen this" Zoro hmphed as he tightened his hold on me, looking rather unimpressed with what was around him.

"Because you got on the wrong ship—shut up! Don't ruin this for us!" Sanji snapped.

"You got on the wrong ship? You dork" I snorted, causing the swordsman's cheeks to become dusted a light pink.

"These roots...they're beautiful..." Robin breathed. "Just think about it—they stretch all the way down to the bottom of the sea."

"Cute..." I smiled when I spotted Chopper puffing his cheeks out—trying to mimic a passing blowfish that had stopped in front of him and puffed right up.

"Okay, you win" he eventually laughed at the fish as Usopp frightfully backed up toward him.

"Hey, Chopper, think there's something behind that tree?" he nervously asked, causing the reindeer to curiously turn his head.

"Whoa! It's huge!" he gawked upon seeing the large fish that was poorly hidden behind some of the tree roots and peeking out at us.

"And shy" I chuckled, watching how the fish quickly ducked even further behind the roots in its attempts to hide.

"Took us long enough to get here, but whatever, it was worth the wait" Luffy grinned as he looked around. "I wonder what comes next—oh! Fishies!" he eagerly jumped toward the fishes, instantly hitting the bubble and causing the sea critters around us to scatter. "I bet I can grab them!" he suddenly proclaimed, a determined glint in his eyes as he tightly gripped the coating bubble and dug his feet into it.
