-Chapter Two Hundred and Fifty-

"I treated the Franky Family's wounds, but I didn't let Robin out of my sight for a single second!" Chopper saluted.

"Mission accomplished!" Sanji and I saluted right back as I raised my sunglasses once more and allowed them to rest atop my head.

"I already told you, I'm not going anywhere" Robin chuckled.

"You promise?" Chopper asked.

"You have my word, soldier" she smiled.

"Good!" I brightly smiled as I folded the letter I had pulled out and stuffed it back into the portrait, making sure that it was safely tucked inside along with the others.

"Guys, look! Can you believe it?!" Nami excitedly asked. "My tangerine trees are okay—we got our money back and our stuff too!" she squealed, happily shoving off the tangerine trees as well as the big bags that were stuffed with all our belongings.

"Really?" Chopper questioned as I nodded and held out the picture frame for him to see.

"Look! It's still there, along with all the letters!" I happily chirped before hugging the portrait close.

"Once we buy a new ship, we'll be good to go!" Nami grinned.

"Alright, that's great!" Chopper brightened as he happily laughed—joining in on the ginger's excitement as he rushed over to get a good look at the bags of our belongings. Already shifting through them himself in search of his belongings as if wanting to make sure that they were indeed all there. I smiled at the two before blinking as I turned my head towards Robin who was once again staring me down with that unusually intense look in her eyes...

She looked like she wanted to say something.

Honestly, that's how it's been these past couple of days between us...but every time I attempted to ask her what was on her mind, she'd always look away and go back to acting like everything was normal. Acting like she doesn't uncomfortably stare me down every time we're in the same vicinity. This time was no different as she quickly directed her gaze towards our happy navigator and smiled, never once saying a single word to me.

"Wow! Baby! Are you guys feeling super or what?" Franky asked as he, Kiwi, and Mozu entered the room. "Oh? Some folks aren't here—whatever" he shrugged when he saw that not everyone was present.

"What's with the big entrance? Something going on?" Sanji asked.

"You bet! Now you better listen close, brother!" Franky grinned. "So there's this island that's always at war" he suddenly said as he sat down, wasting no time as he just dived straight into the story he was about to tell us.

"Wait, stop—I don't care" Sanji raised his hand. "If you're here to tell a bedtime story, go bother someone else" he frowned.

"I don't know, I wouldn't mind hearing a bedtime story" I hummed as I busied myself with safely putting away the portrait in my hands. Not wanting to damage its frame any further.

"Shut up! This is important—listen!" Franky snapped at the two of us, annoyed that we had been so quick to interrupt his story before he could fully get into it. "For years, fire has rained down on that island—death and destruction are the only things that its people know. Houses burn down, cities fall to ruin...there's no place to run from all that chaos. And amid all this madness, there's a single tree" he said as he delved right back into his tale.

"No matter what happens, it never falls and no matter how much the island is destroyed, its people gather around it and build it up again" he continued. "It's the strongest tree in the world—as far as anyone knows, only a few exist. It's known as the Jewel Tree Adam" he finished.
