Skylar numbly stared at each of the stilled bodies laid out before her, thick globs of tears running down her cheeks like waterfalls as she hesitantly lifted her head upon hearing the sound of approaching footsteps—one's that eerily calm as they made their way towards her. Slow and mocking were the words that she would use to describe them before finally, they came to a complete stop, causing her body to start quivering as she shakily stared up into those cold blue eyes that rivaled her own. Eyes which stared at her with such hatred and disgust...eyes that she found herself seeing in the mirror every day of her life...eyes that she felt she could never escape...
"Tell me," a smooth and calming voice began, one that was familiar and caused a shiver to rack its way up her spine, "whose fault is it exactly that they're dead?"
My body jolted upwards with a painful gasp before quickly falling back down in agonizing pain at the sudden cry of protest that emitted from my muscles. Now lying there, I silently up at the ceiling for a moment, shakily breathing as I tried to will that horrible dream to the back of my mind were I knew it would soon be forgotten and ignored until it decides to rear its ugly head once more. This wasn't the first time I had ever had this particularly dream, it was one of many that had become common just like the memories that plagued me in my sleep ever since I found myself growing attached to the others. It was a dream conjured up by my own fears...a dream that manifested itself out of my own worries of what the future might possibly bring. Once the painful dream had eventually seeped itself back down into the darkest corners of my mind, I quietly started to examine the room that I now found myself in.
At a glance, it looked like any other room with a bed, dresser, desk, and bookshelf—light currently fluttered in through the window which curtains were drawn and bathed the entire room in its warmth, but that didn't change the fact that this room was unfamiliar to me.
"I'm alive...?" I muttered as I directed my gaze up towards the ceiling. "Where...where am I...? What...happened...?" I quietly asked, silently thinking for a moment before slowly beginning to lift myself up off the bed, this time opting to ignore the protest of my aching muscles as I carefully stood up. Peering down, I discovered that the entirety of my torso and arms were tightly wrapped in bandages...my pants currently the only things still on my person that hadn't been removed which I was thankful for. Raising my hand, I gently rubbed my head—which also appeared to be wrapped in bandages—in thought as I desperately tried to recall what exactly had happened before I passed out.
"That's right..." I suddenly mumbled as the events that had taken place at Sabaody Archipelago begin to fill my mind—painfully reminding me of what exactly had happened to me and the others. "We...we were all separated..." I bitterly spat in remembrance as my hand dropped from my head and now rested itself over my chest the minute I felt a spike of pain shoot through it...the memory of what had happened causing my heart weep. Shaking my head, I attempted to take a step forward only to then stumble as I quickly grabbed hold of the bed frame in an attempt to keep myself from falling. "Man...how long was I out...?" I quietly frowned as noted just how my legs seemed to almost tingle at the sudden use of them as if they'd been out of commission for a while—slowly did I inch my way towards the bedroom door, using what little furniture the room for help.
