Bria
I woke up with a text from Chris from last night, asking if Forest and I were alright. I️ silently thanked all that is holy that I️ had him, if I️ didn't I'd probably go crazy.
I responded telling him that we were, and that I'm excited for prom today. After all that went on last night, I decided that me and Forest will not stay in this house until 5.
I looked over at Forest who was sleeping soundly, his iPad in his hand.
I tapped his shoulder and his eyes opened.
"What did I tell you about using your iPad in the bed? Do I have to take it again?" I threatened.
"No!"
"Ok then. Go brush your teeth and put some clothes on, we're gonna go surprise Chris."
"Is it his birthday? Happy birthdayyy tooooo Chriiiis-"
"It's not his birthday. We're just gonna bring him some breakfast." I told him. I left out the part that I'd be surprising Chris with something else after prom.
"Why?"
"Because he's a good boyfriend."
Forest looked annoyed that I'd just referred to Chris as my boyfriend, since he wasn't really on board with the relationship from the jump.
"Why can't you and Chris just be friends. Me and Chris are friends."
"Because friends don't do what Chris and I do."
"AND WHAT WOULD THAT BE?!"
"Forest calm down. Me and Chris are friends, just a special kind of friend."
"But remember your old boyfriend? David? He made you cry, remember Bria?"
He reminded me of my ex from Junior year, David. We were together for most of the year, but he broke up with me for a white girl who transferred from Scandinavia.
"I remember, Forest. But Chris isn't like David. You didn't like David, you do like Chris. I'm not gonna argue with you."
"Bria promise Chris won't make you cry?"
"I promise. Now let's go get some breakfast, do you want waffles?"
"Yes!"
Chris
I woke up to arguing. This was an everyday thing, my dad and Alexander were trying to work things out about this whole cheating thing.. but it clearly wasn't working.
"So you're just gonna leave like that?! Really?"
"If he's here, then I won't be, Christian! He's stealing you away from me!"
"Stop blaming this on my son! You're so selfish! I want all of this to stop!"
"And I want a divorce Christian."
After those words I heard the front door slam, and my dad groan. I quickly got out of bed to go check on him. When I got downstairs he was laying on the living room floor, with his face in his hands.
