Not happy where I left off with last chapter now here's an update.
Bria
"What do you mean that's not gonna work? It's gonna have to-"
"It doesn't have to do shit! You and your brother get in the car, I'm taking you to school in a minute."
"I..I don't know."
"Get. In."
"Hurt me all you want to just don't touch Forest!"
"I'm not hurting either of you get in the car!"
I sighed and opened the door and got in the backseat with Forest.
"Oakdale Elementary. Take him."
"Of course." Braden said driving the correct direction to Forest's school.
"Where we going?" Forest whispered.
"School. Don't worry." I held his hand.
"So. Bria, you claim to me all you need this money for is to get a place for you and that kid. How do I know I can trust you?"
"I wouldn't lie.."
"How did I know that? You didn't even tell me you were in high school. I'm the type of nigga who don't like being fucked over, especially with my money. So we have two options if you were actually being honest about where my money's going."
"What options?"
"Y'all can either go to my lil spot in Mississauga and pay me a small rent, or we can go put in applications for a apartment..in my name."
"What? Who are you to make that decision for me?"
"A grown man. You're a kid and obviously are stupid as hell. I mean look at you, in a strangers car with your little brother." He chuckled.
"I didn't choose to be here!"
"Make a choice Brianna I'm making this easy for you. It's a tough situation you have, you're a child trying to do grown up shit. The rent won't be high and I'll be living in my Toronto place."
"But.."
"Listen, I wish I could just scare you into doing this but that's obviously not gonna work. I'm just gonna tell you straight, you're too young and reckless to be in charge of you and that kid. Make a choice."
Mississauga is only 30 minutes away from the city, but I can't trust this nigga. He put his hands on me!
I took Forests headphones out of his book bag and put them on him.
"Hey I wanna hear too.."
"This is adult talk." I said putting on a video for him.
"As much as I would enjoy some structure in my life, it won't be coming from you. You threatened me, put your hands on me, cursed me out-"
"I ain't realize you were a kid!"
"So? If I was grown you wouldn't give a fuck?"
"What I'm saying is I'm not gonna harm you." He said calmly.
I don't understand this man.
"I don't understand what you're about Braden. One minute you like me, then you hate me, then you're trying to protect me. What the fuck is up with you?"
"You wouldn't understand." He mumbled.
"Well? Are you gonna explain?"
Before I knew it the car stopped.
"What are you doing?"
"We're here." He said, causing me to look outside and see Forest's school.
"Oh.." I said feeling a little dumb. I talked Forest and he put his stuff in his book bag.
"Love you Bria, bye. Bye Peanut head!" Forest says running out the car.
"He's a character, isn't he?" Braden said laughing.
"Um hello? Are you gonna answer my question about you always switching up? Like what are you bipolar?"
"Yes." He said solemnly.
"Wait..huh?"
"Didn't expect that, huh? I'm bipolar. But I'm not gonna blame all my issues on that though."
"Elaborate?" I asked.
"You ask a lot of questions. I guess I'd say I have a grudge against women. I mean, I like fucking them..but the moment they get disrespectful with me it sets me off."
"Why's that?"
"It don't matter. I'm working on it, I shouldn't be putting my hands on them."
I couldn't help but wonder where this grudge came from.
"Does it maybe have something to do with your mom? Old girlfriend?"
"I just said it don't matter Bria. Don't ask questions. Now have you made a decision?"
"Braden..I..I just don't know why I should trust you. Give me a good reason."
"I wouldn't want my daughter out here struggling like this. When I found out you were seventeen my immediate reaction was anger, but it just put shit in perspective. Especially your living situation."
"You have a daughter?"
"I uh..I did." He said glancing at a picture of a baby girl on the dash of his car. I didn't notice until now.
"Oh.."
"Her bitch ass mother is the reason I can never see her again- I shouldn't fucking kill that dumb bitch!" He said losing his cool for a second, before taking a deep breath.
The reasons for his issues were showing through more than ever.
"I'm wrong to try and force you to do this, I'm just looking out for you. What do you wanna do?"
"I'm just not sure."
"I don't want you to think I'm trying to have a relationship with you, you're seventeen. You'll only see me when I come to get the little bit of rent I'm asking for. Other than that, I'm out of your life."
This isn't for me, it's for Forest. The waiting lists for apartments in Toronto can be months long. I can't bare to be in the house with Greg and Noah any longer.
"Mississauga." I said reluctantly.
Chris
It was the last period of the day and I still hadn't heard from Bria, it was worrying me. I texted her again when I sat down at my lab table.
Bria is everything good with you and Forest???
I finally got a message back.

Even through my confusion, my stomach got a butterfly feeling.
Uh ok. Love you too..
