"Converse And My Dress"
Caitlin’s POV
I pull up to the house. Well it looks like Dave is already here. I got out and went in the back door.
“Hey.” I whispered to all the girls who were just casually in the kitchen on their phones or eating some pizza. “Where’s Dave?”
“What do you mean?” Laura asked.
“His car is out front.”
“What?!” Sydney spit out her pizza she was chewing.
“I thought they were already in here.” I said.
“No…Come on.” She threw her pizza back in the box. We all followed her downstairs and to the closet at the end of the hall in a hurried action. She swung open the door. “Everyone take one and load up.”
I grabbed the gun and loaded it. I don’t think I could ever shoot someone, but Sydney seemed pretty serious. I took these gun shooting classes when I was younger, so I knew how to work the gun and everything.
“Let’s go.” She started walking down the dark hallway.
“Why are you in a freaking dress?” Hope asked.
“I was at an award show.” I didn’t have time to change so I was in my perfect pink dress. I had time to grab shows though, so I’m currently just wearing my favorite shoes, my white converse. Yup, my converse and my dress.
“Oh, with Austin. You know he is-“
“I know.” I cut her off.
“Well he-“
“What about Austin?” Sydney whipped her head around.
“Caitlin is-“
She was cut off when we hit the foot of the steps, still standing at the bottom.
We heard yelling from upstairs. They’re in the house.
“Caitlin stay down here. Go in that room. Do you have the envelope?” She told me.
“Ya.” I pulled it out of my bra.
“It’s warm.” She whispered to me.
“Well why wouldn’t it be. It was in-“
“Okay, just listen. We have our bags and everything in the car. We are going to try to push them off for a few minutes until we can make a break for it. You stay in that room and one of us will come and find you after we deal with them.”
“Are you sure?” I whispered.
“Ya.” Was all she said as they all ran up the stairs. I’m just glad she dropped the whole subject with Austin. She would have been beyond furious and it wasn’t helping that she was holding a gun.
I went into the room I was told to go to. It was the same room that I saw Dave in last time. It was actually a little scary. It was all dark, only lit by the moonlight, since it was past midnight. I stood there holding the gun ready and loaded just in case anyone found me.
I could hear so much stuff going on upstairs. I could hear things being thrown, furniture being flipped, and gun shots going off.
A tear ran down my face. What if one of those gun shots just happened to be from the gun that could possibly have shot Austin? What if Austin is on the floor bleeding right now? What if-
