"Walking Mess"
Caitlin’s POV
Two months later…
“Goodmorning.” Cam smiled at me as I walked in.
“Morning.”
“I had a great time at dinner last night.” He smiled.
I kept walking. I didn’t answer. I just nodded a little in response.
It was a good dinner, but…I couldn’t think of anything but Austin.
It’s been about two months since I’ve seen him last, but I still can’t forget him.
I’ve cried myself to sleep every night. I don’t know what to do. I don’t want to be without him, but I can’t go through this. What if he cheats again?
I pushed my thought to the side and worked my morning shift; today wasn’t a night day, as a nurse in the emergency room.

“Hey, wait up!” Cam came running after me out the doors. I turned around on my heels. “Do want to do something again this weekend?”
“Uh-“My phone starting going off. Thank you! “Sorry.”
I answered the phone quickly.
“Hello?”
“Hey.” Oh shoot…This is Alex.
“What?”
“Well…But do you still have a spare key to Austin’s house? I lost mine and I need it desperately.”
“Desperately?” I laughed.
“Ya…So?”
“Uh ya sure. I’ll stop and drop it off. I’m leaving work now.”
“Thank you so much! And can you come quickly?”
“Uh, sure. Is everything okay?” I said walking to my car completely leaving Cam behind. Haha. Oops. Sorry I’m not sorry.
“Uh…Ya. I…Ya. Got to go, bye.”
This worried me so I hurried there.
I stopped the car and just stared up at the house. My old house. Of course I only am living next door, but I don’t really even let myself look over to see the house…Too many memories.
I slowly opened the car door and walked up to Alex who was sitting on the front steps. His head was in his hands and he stared at the ground. When his eyes saw my feet come to a stop in front of him he looked up, and then suddenly jumped up.
“Caitlin! Thank you so much! You don’t even understand! Can I have the keys?”
…Why does he need them so urgently?...
I stared at him for a little while.
“Caitlin! Come on, just forget about everything and hand me the damn keys! This is important.”
Whoa…Something is up.
I still didn’t say a word. This time I swung the keys around my finger and walked up the steps.
“Caitlin, don’t.”
“Why not?” I snapped my head around.
He seemed a little shocked I talked. Yes I talk Alex. I actually haven’t seen Alex in a while.
