"Here We Go Again"
Caitlin’s POV
I sat in the living room with tears going down my cheeks one by one, silently. I don’t know what to do about the baby. It’s gone.
I will never know if it was a boy or girl.
I’ll never know what Austin’s reaction would have been if I told him the news.
I will never know-
BANG!
I jumped up.
It sounded like someone ran into a wall.
I slowly made my way around the corner to where Austin was holding the closet door shut.
“Austin.” I whispered. “Austin?” I repeated.
I was fully around the corner and Austin was nowhere to be found. What? The chair that was in front of the closet was even back in the place it was in before. The closet door was even closed. It looked like nothing happened. What is going on?
“Austin.” I said louder.
Still nothing.
I walked down the hall towards the door to the back deck taking each step slowly.
I stuck my head out the door and looked left.
Nothing.
Then I looked right.
“Hey.”
I tried to run back into the house, but Dave’s hand clasped around my arm.
“We’re leaving.”
“No! Austin! Austin help me! Please! Someone!” I screamed as Dave pulled me to the car parked on the side of the house.
“He can’t hear you.”
“I already called the cops.” I glared at him. “Help!” I tried once again, but didn’t succeed.
“Get in.” He threw my in the car.
After about five minutes of me not moving my eyes from the mirror- giving him so many glares- he started talking.
“You needed to be difficult. You want to learn the hard way? Fine by me.”
“What does that mean?” I squeaked due to my nervousness.
“It means I’ll wait until he tries to find you and when he does-“ He stopped and looked at me through the mirror. “I’ll kill him.”
The lump in my throat started getting bigger.
“What about him and my dad?”
“Your dad has been fake working with Austin for awhile.” They worked together? “And I’ll let the police take care of him.” Okay just let your teammate get arrested, that’s cool.
“And Austin?”
“He tried to hit me when I came back up the stairs, so I threw him down the stairs and looked the basement door.”
“Why?! Why did you choose to hurt him? Why him!?”
“He f*cked up in high school. Once you’re in the business, you can’t get out easily.”
“Where are we going?” I asked a few minute later, after I calmed down.
“My other headquarters. When will you stop asking questions?”
