“Wasn’t Meant To Be”

Caitlin’s POV

The door opened and my red eyes met Dave’s.

“What?” I questioned quietly.

“Just making sure you were still here. You weren’t at dinner.” He closed the door.

“I can’t even try to escape so…” I trialed off.

“You and Austin are alike in many ways. I wouldn’t be surprised if you figured something out.” He smirked. “But if you try you’ll be sorry.”

I can’t leave because I’m on a train. It’s actually a private train, one that has bedrooms, dining rooms, bathrooms, all that crap. I haven’t explored the train at all and it’s been a week on this train. I’ve stayed in this very room and the dining room.

He has been nicer than usual. Actually I wouldn’t say ‘nice’ but better than his normal self. He hasn’t hurt me, he has yelled though. I think he is trying to be ‘nicer’ with me because I’m so lost right now. It hit me that I’ve been through so much and Austin was the only one that helped make everything better. He may have been the one that started this, but if none of this happened I wouldn’t be in love with him. And now that this mess is back into play and I’m alone with the enemy. I’m scared, lost, tired, and sad.

Dave knows this is hard for me. It’s almost like I’m done fighting. I know what the consequences will be if I run or talk back. I know it’s best if I just wait until Austin finds me. I don’t know if I can count on him this time though, I’m on a train that has been traveling on the tracks with only two stops for a week. Who knows where we are.

“Listen,” He sat down on the bed next to me. “You’re going to need to get use to this okay? It’s just how it is now. Forget about it. You’re one of us, or you aren’t and you get killed. You’re choice.”

“So you’re telling me to forget about my life, my friends, and Austin?”

“Pretty much.” He paused for awhile but spoke up. “I know you. And I’ve known you for a long time. I know what you can do. And I know you’ll be a good addition to my team. Either that or you’re done.”

My hands rubbed down my face thinking.

“So what’s it going to be?”

“I can’t decide now.”

“I’ll give you until tonight.”

Wow. Thanks about twelve hours. Thanks Dave.

“I’ll be back at eleven tonight. Think Sparks, and choose wisely.” He said and left me in that room to think.

I know what I’m going to do. I just need to figure out some things….Some research per say.

Austin’s POV

I walked out of the prison with a smirk on my face.

I figured it out. I know where Dave is heading.
