"Snap"
Caitlin’s POV
“Just stay close to me and everything will be fine.” Austin said looking out of the window of the fancy car that brought us to the airport. He was looking at the mob of fans and paparazzi surrounding and flooding the parking garage.
Yesterday, as you know, Austin asked me to be his real girlfriend…I said yes. I do love him. I was just too shy to admit it, but I did tell him and it worked out pretty good.
Yesterday on the ride home from the bike route I fell asleep, when we got home I packed as Austin took a shower. Then he packed as I took a shower. He promised his mahomies a Ustream, so I ate while he did that. Then I just went to bed. This morning we over slept a little, so we were rushing and didn’t even speak to each other. What he just told me was one of the first things he has told me since yesterday.
The car stopped and Austin paid the driver.
“Okay we don’t have Joe, so stay close to me.” He told me again.
I nodded and he opened the door.
The instant wave of screams hit me. Austin jumped out of the car and turned around.
I was a little shocked so I kind of sat in the chair wide eyed looking at everyone. Austin wasn’t going to deal with any dilly-dallying. He wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me out of the car.
“Oh.” I said quietly. He put me down, still in the doorway, and kept his arms around my hips. One of my hands was on his chest/neck and the other one was around his waist. I smiled and he smiled back. Then he leaned to my ear.
“We’re going to have to make a run for it.” He whispered. He grabbed both our suitcases and gave me mine. The driver had gotten them out of the truck for us, so bless him for fighting the fans around this car.
There were screams of Austin name coming from every direction, flashes from cameras, and then cars horns honking trying to get through the mob.
Austin grabbed my hand and looked at me. I nodded telling him I was ready and we started making our way through the mob. My hair, clothes, and limbs were being pulled, which slowed me down a little. I just laughed and someone ripped off Austin’s beanie. It didn’t even seem to phase him.
After about forty minutes of constant running, pushing through fans, and Mahomies crowding us we finally made it through baggage and were now sitting down in the seats waiting for our flight to be called.
I sighed as I sat down. Austin sat right next me, out of breath like me. And then he let go of my hand. He held it the whole time we were running away from the mob. He let go for a few seconds a few times, but would immediately grab it again, making sure I was right with him.
“I miss Joe.” I said.
He laughed and said, “Did you get hurt at all?”
“No.” I laughed a little.
“They took my hat.” He said running his hands through his messy hair.
I reached into my carry-on bag and pulled out a black beanie of his. I handed it to him and his face lit up.
“No way.”
“I had a feeling something like that would happen.” I said as he placed the beanie on his head. His hair was really messy today so he was pretty excited when I handed him the beanie.
