"And That's Why"
Caitlin’s POV
Okay, so running…not my best choice.
These mahomies are insane. Austin didn’t want it to be like this, he wanted no one to know we were here. Too late. How did they even find me? There was like a hundred of them chasing me.
I was sprinting through the parking lot and was heading towards the rental car. How can I get into the car without the mob of mahomies attacking me?
“Hey!” I yelled and turned around. They all surrounded me. Remind me why I came here alone?
They stared at me with awe in their eyes. Do they really know who I am?
“I love you Caitlin!” One yelled, and soon I was hearing so many questions, compliments, and pictures being snapped. My arms were being pulled and yanked along with my clothes. I felt a pair of hands grab my ankle and pull me down to my butt. I sat on the pavement being ripped apart and stretched like elastic. I felt someone rip one of my shoes off. Why are his fans so touchy?
“Move!” I heard a deep voice yell.
My head shot up and I saw a cop shining a flashlight on me. I saw another one behind him pushing fans back.
He held out his hand and helped me up. He grabbed my arm, without asking me anything, and brought me to his car.
Oh god. What did his fans get me into?
He put me in the back seat and kept the side door open and stood there staring at me. Am I being arrested? How do I explain this to Austin?
“What is your name? Why are they attacking you? And what are you doing out this late?” He asked quickly.
“I’m Caitlin Sparks. I’m best friends with the singer Austin Mahone, so his fans know me, and I’m getting s’mores stuff for a campfire.” I said showing him the bag of food.
“Mahone…Okay, we’re just going to take you home.” He said sternly. I guess he has dealt with Austin before, or maybe his fans.
He closed the door and we were off. I told him where to go. He said that the other cop would be driving my rental car home for me. They wanted to warn Austin about the dangers of his fans. And don’t worry, the whole ride to the beach house the cop was lecturing me and telling me ‘if this happens again there will be consequences’. What the hell? This is now my fault I was mobbed?!
We reached the beach house and he grabbed my arm and pulled me out of the car. I saw the other cop pull up and follow us to the front door of the beach house. Let me tell you his grip on my arm was very, very tight.
We all stopped at the door and while one knocked the cop that drove my rental car handed me the shoe that was ripped off of me. I thanked him and the door opened.
Austin’s POV
I ran away from the campfire and chairs in the sand under the stars. I need this situation to be perfect when I tell her about the envelope. I was now in the kitchen pouring Caitlin a soda and myself a beer, since she isn’t so big on drinking. I was about to bring them outside when I heard a knock at the door.
Caitlin should be back, maybe she forgot her keys or something, but when did I lock the door?
I put the drinks on the dining room tables and ran to the door.
