Madelines POV
"im so sorry..." Diego sobs.
seeing him so hurt, broke something inside of me.
"Diego..." I run over to him and wrap my arms around him.
" im so..so...sorry.." he continues.
"shhh...baby its okay..." I hold him, comforting him, his heart was racing and his body was shaking violently.
lucas slowly shuts the door, he sits down on the couch next to me and Diego. he rubs his hand on my back.
eventually, after a while, Diego calmed down.
"baby.. its not your fault..." I whisper in his ear.
"I think the boat is heading back to the dock. I think we're going to get there around noon tomorrow. you guys might want to pack your things and get ready to head back home..." lucas says.
Diego stands up and hugs lucas.
" we gotta stay in touch man.." lucas says.
" your more than welcomed to the wedding." I smile.
I hug lucas, and me and Diego head out the door.
Diego grabs my hand and holds it tightly as we walk in silence down the hall to our room.
as we spent hours packing up, and cleaning. we eventually got everything together.
" I'm going to bed okay?" I tell Diego.
" madeline...do you still love me..?" Diego asks blankly and emotionless as he sits on the bed.
"Diego.... tonights been hard on all of us. every single one of us to be exact. but nothing will ever, and I mean ever, keep me from loving you." I sit down next to him, holding his hand.
Diego looks me in the eyes.
" I wish I met you sooner..." Diego whispers, putting my lost strands of hair behind my ear.
" I wish I didn't call you a creep that one time.." I respond.
Diego smiles , for the first time in what felt like forever.
" come on baby..we get to go home tomorrow. back to our normal lives. except this time, we'll be planning for our wedding.." I kiss Diego on the forehead. we lay down in bed, cuddling, as our dreams take over and we drift off into a deep sleep.
