"diego..i..i.." i was surprised he would even go through all this trouble again for me..
"okay you're starting to worry me here...if you want to get married you're gonna have to accept this ring because i kinda threw your other one out..the..window." he pressed his lips together as his cheeks turned rosy red.
"Madeline, don't worry about what everyone else is going to think...do what you feel is right." my brother whispered in my ear before backing away.
"yes..." i said quietly.
"wait. what was that?" Diego's face lit up with excitement.
"yes." i smiled while looking into his sparkling eyes.
"can you just say that one...more time and a little bit louder." he scrunched his face up while smiling from cheek to cheek.
"yes Diego... I'll marry you!" i laughed.
he jumped up from one knee and embraced me in a long, heartwarming hug.
"so just to be sure....we're getting married?" he pulled back, his hands remaining on my hips.
"just shut up and kiss me you dork." i giggled before pulling him in for a kiss.
he picked me up, wrapping my legs around his waist, with his lips still moving in sync with mine.
"well this is awkward!!" my brother yelled.
i giggled as Diego slowly let me back down on my feet.
"Madeline...i love you..i really do.." he leaned his forehead against mine.
"well..i really love you too.." I smiled before pecking his lips.
he held out my hand, sliding the ring on my finger.
"by the way... your mom called me earlier...not sure if she was pissed at me for leaving you home alone or just really really worried about you." I laughed.
"probably both," Diego smirked before draping his arm around my shoulder.
"come on. i want my Chinese food." he rubbed his belly while walking u back towards the car.
"OH NO THAT'S OKAY ILL CLEAN THIS STUFF UP ALL BY MYSELF. YEAH, YOU TWO GO HAVE FUN MAKE BABIES SHIT GO MEET THE PRESIDENT. ILL BE FINE. RIGHT HERE. BY MYSELF. CLEANING THIS SHIT UP. ALL ONE HUNDRED SOMETHING CANDLES!" my brother yelled out being highly sarcastic..
"thanks, dude. you're the best." Diego said, knowing he was joking but couldn't resist the opportunity.
"come on let's go before he figures out he's gotta find a way to get the truck and his car back home." Diego smiled frighteningly while running up to the car.
"Diego how do you expect-" i laughed before he cut me off by gently pushing me up to the car.
"Shhhh. let him figure it out himself...all I'm worried about right now is getting you home..." he smirked before leaving a soft kiss on my lips.
"get in the car." i felt him grin in the middle of our kiss.
i bit my lip before running to the other side of the car and hopping in the passenger seat.
moments later, Diego got in as well.
"my Chinese food!" i squealed as i remembered i set it on the dashboard.
diego just looked at me cluelessly.
"don't judge." I glared at him while shoving a fork full of noodles in my mouth.
