" madeline....I just...I was there for you through everything in your life for the past half a year or so. what did you expect? I've had a thing for you ever since you walked into my bar that night on the cruise!" he sounds frustrated.
"lucas. I love you. but as a friend." I grab his hand, trying to calm him down.
" I dont understand...diegos treated you like shit! and I'm the nicest guy you have ever met since him! I don't know why you won't give me a chance...." he leaves a hundred dollar bill on the table and gets up and leaves.
and for some reason, I felt something. I felt guilt and betrayal. because he was right. lucas is a sweetheart, he was always there for me..
"fine..be that way..." I whisper to myself.
I walk out to the parking lot and get in my car and head back to the house.
should I tell Diego about what Lucas said?
" BBAAAABBBBYYYY I MISSSEDD YOUUU!" Diego runs up to me as soon as I walk in the door and hugs me.
" your so extraaaa!!" I giggle .
my smile fades away immediately when the thought of lucas crosses my mind.
" so when are we going to your parents?" he asks as we walk into the kitchen.
"I guess around 8." I say.
why can't I stop thinking of lucas?
" baby? did you hear me?" Diego asks.
"oh what?huh?" I felt my face get red.
" I asked you how was lunch?" Diego smiles as he fixes a glass of water.
" it was um. nice. we talked about wedding plans..and stuff.."
wow I just fucking lied to Diego.
" oh nice! I feel like we should also talk to your parents about it tonight."
he smiles.
"Diego I need to tell you something." I say.
I was feeling so many emotions right now... I felt guilty for lucas..like something broke inside of me when I saw the pain in his eyes.
Diego turned around and looked nervously at me.
