" why are you here." i ask.
" i was discussing somethings with diego" he looks at diego and smiles.
" like what?"
" the wedding sweetheart, but diego told me yall werent sure if yall were having it anymore..."
i laugh.
"dad you got jokes.."
then diego looks at me as if he was sorry.
then i look at my dad.
"diego...we NEVER said that!!" i stand up in defense..
" i was going to talk to you about it tonight..." diego looks at me, trying to sound apologetic.
" well.... im going home..." my dad stands up and heads out the door awkwardly.
" WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU WERENT SURE WE WERE HAVING THE WEDDING ANYMORE!!!!" i felt tears sting my eyes.
" CALM DOWN!!" he stands up.
"so you dont want to marry me anymore..." i wipe a tear from my cheek.
"no baby...thats not it..." he wraps his arms around me.
" THEN WHAT IS IT!!!" i pull away from him.
" HERE!!!" he throws an envelope at me.
it was open of course.
" STOP OPENING MY FUCKING MAIL!!"
then i decide to read the letter inside.
