Diegos POV

"Bring in Danny Wolf," the judge said to the two police officers standing by her side.  i looked over at Madeline and she clenched her fists under the table. 

"deep breaths baby..." i grabbed her hand giving it a squeeze. 

she looked at me and gave me a faint smile. 

when Danny walked in, all eyes turned and looked at him. 

orange had always been his color. 

Even though everyone's eyes were on him, his were on Madeline. 

"Madeline Rose, please rise." Madeline grabbed her crutches to help her stand up to her feet. 

"Yes, your honor?" she asked. 

"Please state your side of the case." the judge put down her papers and stared deeply at Madeline. 

Madeline's POV

"...And after my fiance Diego , came back home, i had to call things off. Then the same day we went to a lunch party and he got angry and followed me home.."i finished off. 

"and that's when he shot you? when you got home?" the judge asked. 

"no your honor, it wasn't directly after that..first it started off as yelling...then he threw the jewelry box at me...then he went into the closet, to the safe and grabbed the gun." i choked. 

"then that's when he shot you in the leg?" 

"no, he shot at my head first but missed by an inch or two." my voice grew smaller. 

i heard the whispers in the jury grow. 

"then when did he shoot you?" 

"after Diego had ran into the room." i cleared my throat. 

"Danny, please state your case." the judge looked away from me and towards Danny.  

Dannys  POV

i basically said the same thing Madeline did.

except, she failed to mention a few things. 

i looked Madeline right in the eyes, "you made me fall in love with you." 

diegos head shot towards me, giving me a death glare. 

"I didn't mean to shoot you...you pushed Diego out of the way before i could stop." 

"What are you trying to say?" the judge looked at me. 

"i didn't mean to shoot Madeline... i was aiming for Diego," i said.

i watched as Diego's body tensed up. Then in seconds, he stood up and walked out of the doors angrily. 

Madelines POV

i watched as they took Danny away for who knows how long.

"Madeline Rose, you are now dismissed." the judge said before getting up and walking towards the doors near the back. 

Steven walked up to me and smiled. "you did it..im proud of you, you made it through it.." he gave me a big, heartwarming hug. 

"where did Diego go?"  i asked. 

"i think everything Danny was saying was just too much for him." he pursed his lips. 

"come on lil girl, get your crutches, i wanna take you and Diego to lunch." Steven grinned while pointing towards my crutches leaning against the chair. 

i laughed lightly before grabbing them and making my way towards the door. 

"Diego?" i asked questioningly as we approached a boy sitting on the steps with his head in his lap. 

Diego slowly looked up at me with tears running down his cheeks. 

"he..lo..he." he tried to say through his sobs. 

i handed my crutches to steven and sat down on the steps beside Diego, "what is it baby?" i grabbed his hand. 

"Madeline...he loves you...now i have to li-li.." 

"you have to what..?" i whispered. 

"he loves you, and now i have to live knowing that another man loves you the way i do..." he grabbed my hand holding it in his. 

i know this was a short chapter, but only because i have BIG BIG things planned 🖤

ALSO. please understand that im under alot of stress with school so its been harder for me to update frequently. but im trying my best, just please dont give up on me 💔 i think im going to drop my honors classes because its all far too much for me right now. I also have a benchmark Biology test tomorrow that im going to fail cause we all know im complete ass at biology. 

i love you guys, just please be patient, im going to try to update this book tomorrow💕
