Chapter 24: I’m Gonna Die a Virgin
Matt Hendricks
My YouTube video went viral—but I don’t care. She hasn’t seen it. I know she didn’t. She wants to forget me, our past and… damn it, I couldn’t even think properly. All I could ever even think about is a girl named Megan.
“Matt?” My new seatmate, which happens to be my past Anya Shieldings called out. I was pulled out from my little thinking session. I look at her and mumbled something unintelligible before saying “What?”
“You’re spacing out too often. Seriously affected because of that bitch?” She said which sent my hand connecting with her face. She clutched her face while she yelped in pain. It’s a good thing the class has just ended. Woah, I just noticed now that I was brought back to life.
“Jesus! What the fuck was that for?!” She cried.
“That was for calling Megan a bitch, you psychopath!” I yelled at her then sent myself to the door to just get away from Anya. You can’t call her a bitch. She never was a bitch. It’s Katanya who is a bitch. She seduces people. I don’t even know why I liked her. I’m so glad I am out of her grasp now. Megan may be cold and frank but she’s better than Anya.
I walked my way towards the piling line in the cafeteria. Today’s specialty was Baked Macaroni—Meg’s favourite. And so I got that much to my delight. Things that she likes remind me of her. Just like what I did yesterday.
*Flashback*
I swung my foot in the last branch of the tree parallel to Meg’s room. The window was open so I had no trouble of getting in. I miss her so damn much that I need to just go here where I feel she’s with me again.
Her room was still the same—red sheets, cream coloured walls—except that she was nowhere in sight. I sit on her bed and imagine her beside me, giggling because I look like a silly creep. I remember the time when I discovered her blog and she yelled at me for it. I smile at the memory of that.
“I miss you, Megan.” I whispered to myself—as if she’ll here me. She’s miles away. After for like it seems like five minutes, I decided to go. Ethan might catch me here. Mrs. Dalton went to where Meg was. I wanted to go with her but I know she wouldn’t let me. It’s a really bad idea.
Just as I was about to go towards the window where my exit station awaits, a shining object caught my eye. Curiosity got the best of me so I approached it and it turns out, it’s Meg’s perfume—Victoria’s Secret Vanilla Lace. I snatch my handkerchief from my back pocket and then sprayed the perfume on it multiple times until I was satisfied of what I just did. I seriously am acting like a creeper.
I need to go, I thought. I glanced at the portrait of Meg behind me and then decided to climb down. Just as I was about to swing my legs on the window, the door opened. Shit.
“THIEF!!!!!!” I know it’s Ethan. He’s the only one here. His silhouette was holding a wait—baseball bat? What the hell?!
Ethan’s figure lunged towards me and I mentally shrunk in horror. Shit, shit and shit!
“CALM DOWN DUDE ITS ME MATT!!!” I yelled at him but it’s too late, he hit me on my biceps and I groaned in response. That fucking hurts!
