Chapter 28: I'm Wearing a Bra

A year later...

Megan Dalton

"Are your things okay now?"

"Uh huh."

"Swimsuits?"

"Yeah it's in there already."

"Extra clothes?"

"Yep!"

"Passport?"

"Holding it." I raise the passport in my hands. Gosh, can I like, go now? The gang's waiting for me at the airport. "Gosh dad, I'm nineteen, I can handle myself." I told my dad. He shook his head. "It feels like yesterday I was teaching you to walk but now, you're being the independent girl."

"Well phrased dad. Look, I need to go, like now? My flight is in an hour dad!" I looked at the time in my phone. Shit, I need to be there because Aki, Daniel, Gen, Ethan (not my brother, Gen's boyfriend) and V are already waiting for me at the goddamn airport.

"Oh, right, come on." He went and carried my luggage. Yay, thanks dad. Now, we are Philippine bound and going to go to Boracay. Yeah, this is the life.

We drove to the airport, which is like 10 minutes away. I'm so excited for this trip-especially because I'm traveling with my best pals. Finally, we arrived at the airport. I spot my friends at the middle of the growing crowd. My dad went and got my luggage and handed it to me. I hugged him.

"Thank you for everything, dad." I whispered in his ear.

"I love you, Ash." He hugged back.

"You too! See you in ten days!" I told him, kissed his cheek and went plummeting to my friends. Aki spotted me and met me halfway.

"Nigga! We're going to my place! Philippines!" She cheered.

"Yeah, I know. I'm so excited!" I told her, giggling in the process. I'm nineteen now and I'm really a converted person. Not like, religion converted but in physical aspects. My hair is not red anymore and it's not really wavy like it was back then. Now, mine has those curls. Aki, however, is still stunning as ever. She dyed her hair red and she was so flawless to look at. My new friend, Gen, was still gorgeous with her ginger hair. The boys, they pretty much looked the same. Nothing much changed, really.

"You're all meeting my friends! Like, oh my gosh." I remember her best friends in the Philippines. I used to see them skype or facetime with Aquena here. She's such a darling and sometimes, I really don't understand what she's talking about.

Soon, we boarded the plane. Our first stop is New York (yes, the memories of New fucking York) then we have Japan then Philippines. We'll be proceeding to our flight to Caticlan (where the island is located) and then ride a boat to the island itself.

My seat was just beside my boyfriend. I was supposed to be in the window seat but hell, I'm acrophobic so I exchanged seats with the love of my life. I flipped my head over and started to scoop up my blonde locks into a messy bun.

"Asher, my dear. What're you doing?" Val asked me. I can see he looks confused. I never did this to my hair in a public place or with him before.

I secured my bun with an elastic before responding, "Just putting my hair up, dear." He smiles at me-that oh so killer smile-and puts an arm on my shoulder. "Oh, I hope we'll have a good time in Boracay, yeah?"

"Yeah!" I responded excitedly. I can't wait to smell the salty air, to swim on that world-famous beach, to try some food unknown to me and to be with awesome boyfriend and friends.
