"By the looks of it Cap, you'll be needing all the help you can get." I said heading towards the hoard of incoming aliens.
"Hey wait Miss!" Captain America shouted reaching out in a feeble attempt to stop me.
"My name is Kelsey, I've got this!" I responded running on top of a car, leaping into the air and charging my right fist in my flames. Dropping from the air I rammed my fist into the face of an alien I fell into. Jumping up quickly I killed another two aliens with the switchblades I always carried.
Spreading my arms out wide I did a wide swing bringing them together with my telekinesis and clasping my hands together with a clap. Following my arms in one fast motion all the aliens collided into each other in the middle of the road even ripping ones from the wall straight off into the center.
Keeping my hands clasped, so the aliens could not move though they struggled, I stomped my boot as hard as I could onto the ground. The earth began to tremble and from my boot stemmed a crack, as the ground began to split going forward until it was under where all of the aliens were currently. The hole grew larger under the aliens and with a smirk I forced my clasped hands down sending all the aliens into the crevasse. But since it wasn't that deep they didn't just disappear instead they were wedged in it.
When I had created the hole in the ground I was forced to extend my right foot out. So, with a slightly sadistic smirk I dragged my foot across the road and upturned gravel before tapping it against my left foot. This action closed the open crevasse capturing them all in the earth.
Relinquishing my hold on them, I separated my hands so I could watch the aliens struggle to get out of their current predicament but unfortunately all their attempts would be in vain. Popping the cap off the water pouch I had resting against my hip, I willed the water out of the pouch and made it levitate above my open palm.
Looking at the aliens, I rocked my arm back before forcing it forward. The water zipped from my hand heading straight for the aliens and in one fluid movement the water went straight through all of their necks instantaneously decapitating all the trapped aliens before return to my hand.
I let the water linger there in my open palm as I turned to see Captain America wearing the same shocked expression he had when I first spotted him with his mouth hanging open. Extremely proud of myself I was smiling so hard until I noticed there was an alien attempting to sneak up behind Cap.
Throwing my arm out again, the ball off water went flying through the air past Captain America's shoulder missing his head by mere inches but hitting the alien in the face. I made it consume his whole head before clenching my fist and crushing the alien's whole head in the water.
Captain America had spun around to face the now dead alien in wonder as my water returned to me. I returned it to the pouch and recapped it. Digging my hand into my pocket feeling the small square piece of paper I was looking for. Pulling it out I made sure it had the information that I had been looking for as I walked towards the Captain. Tapping him slightly I regained his attention, trying not to let my exhaustion from the stress of the abilities be too evident.
"Thank you so much for your concern Captain America but I believe I can handle myself. If we're not all killed by the aliens and we survive this battle please email or text me. I would love to hear your stories from the past. But for now, I need to protect my home and the people. Good luck." I said gaining his attention.
"You too." He said with a knowing nod.
And like that I ran off in the direction of what sounded like explosions.
During the battle I continued fighting as hard as I could do my best to keep as many civilians safe as I possibly could while killing or disabling any and all hostiles that got in my way.
Once or twice more I ran into Captain America and the red head who told me her name was Natasha after another encounter where we both ended up being cornered by aliens and fought them off together. I ran off to help some civilians get to safety and she went off a different way.
At one point I found myself so exhausted and I was barely holding on as I kept getting knocked around by the aliens. I had been shot with their weird guns and it got me on my side so I actually had to cauterize my own wound with my flames. And let me say it was not a very pleasant experience.
I continued to fight relentlessly even as exhaustion began to overtake me. I kept going until I was thrown into a wall getting wedged in it. Just as the alien started to raise his gun to kill me I looked up to the sky seeing the portal where all the aliens were coming from.
Suddenly a rocket went through and I could see an explosion come from the opposite end. And just as it happened the Alien who was seconds away from pulling the trigger dropped to the ground like a rag doll.
"W-We won." I said breathlessly from where I was stuck in the wall. Then the blue portal in the sky closed as one last thing dropped out of it. I watched as it quickly plummeted to the ground before a ginormous green giant came flying in and caught him.
Flying through the air I made my way to where I saw that green giant land. To my surprise that giant was actually the Hulk and on the ground lay Tony Stark, but he wasn't moving. Captain America and another man stood next to him.
Slowly I began walking over to where the hero's who'd just saved the city saying nothing in order to hear them if they said anything. When the Hulk let out a loud roar, I jumped back in fright gasping painfully at the aching in my side.
Iron Man began to moving again and I let out a breath that I didn't even realize I'd been holding in up to this point.
"C-Captain Rogers." I called out gaining the man's attention making him turn around. I took a few more steps forward until I had to stop resting my body against a rubble covered car.
"You're that girl, Kelsey, from before."
"Yes, and thank you for remembering my name."
"How could I not?" He said with a gentle smile which lit my cheeks up a bright red.
"Tell Fury for me that I'm in." I said with a smile before turning and hobbling away.
"Wait what are you talking about?!" Captain America called out after me but he was too tired to follow after me.
"You'll know soon enough. I'll see you around."
