The flight back to America was painfully quiet, Steve had spent the majority of the flight fuming over Kelsey's open resistance to his commands as he sat in his seat glaring at Kelsey's back.

"Quit looking at her like that Steve." Natasha chided from her seat across from him finally breaking the hours long silence.

"What?" He returned gruffly.

"Stop looking at her like that, you'll only end up pissing her off more."

"Did you know about the change of plans?"

"Yes."

"Why didn't you say anything?"

"Because it had no effect on our mission."

"Yes it did, there was another agent in the field who was drawing all the fire to them."

"You know what Steve." Kelsey's voice rang out interrupting the other two's conversation as she stood up to glare back at him. "I was the one who suggested it to Fury and look no one knows you were there. And better yet that base is in ruin! So, the mission succeeded end of discussion."

"You got hurt though." He interjected stupidly and yet again, he could swear he saw her left eye flicker into a shade of brown.

"End of discussion!" Kelsey barked before dropping back into the chair.

Steve looked over to Nat and shook her head in disappointment. Steve may have been Captain America but he certainly still had no clue when it came to women. The rest of the ride back to the helicarrier was even more awkward. The second the jet had landed, Kelsey was the first off jet ignoring the calls of Steve to wait so he could talk to her.

Fury was waiting just outside the jet holding a duffel bag which he quickly handed off to her.

"The mission was successful, the others have the flash drive, I'm going to shower and take care of the stitches." Kelsey said before turning and leaving the SHEILD director where he was standing.

"You're done for the day, you don't have to stay." Fury called after her, Kelsey instead of looking back simply gave the man a thumb up before flying into the air like it was nothing and heading towards the city as Natasha, Clint and Steve got off the jet.

"You overreacted didn't you Rogers?" Fury asked as Captain America approached him with the other two standing back for a moment.

"Did everyone know about this change except me?" Steve asked with some frustration. For a moment he was simply ignored as Fury was handed the flash drive with all the information Natasha had gathered on the mission.

"Not necessarily. But you might want to apologize to Kelsey, she's dangerous when she's angry. I've seen it firsthand."

"I was just worried about her, does no one understand that?"

"Rogers, I wouldn't be worried about her safety there was a reason I pushed her so much to join the team. She can more than handle herself. You are all free for the day, just go to the Stark Tower and relax."

"You don't need to tell me twice." Natasha said turning around and heading right back towards the quinjet, Clint at her side. Steve just shook his head quickly before turning to follow after Nat back towards the jet they had just been on.

As soon they were all on, the jet it was off fly fast towards New York City and the Stark Tower. They were there in just about 20 minutes because they chose not to rush going at a nice speed probably to give Steve the time to think up a decent apology. When the three of them had finally reached the tower, they were all quick to disembark from the jet to unwind.
