"You sure you're ready for this ?" Sam asked with a look over her shoulder towards Kelsey who was still rubbing her head in pain.
"I should be the one asking you that, you're the one whose been out of combat for who knows how long." Kelsey said looking up and smiling back at him before pulling her mask on over her face.
"Guys." Steve said as he and hill had stopped a few feet ahead of the pair in front of a doorway.
Racing forward to stand with the other two Kelsey adjusted her clothes quickly. She had on the costume SHIELD had given her which was almost identical to the one she wore before joining them but with a few upgrades. It was still a black tank, leggings and black army boots but now also a black jacket with built in kevlar and a black mask that could filter out toxins if the mission called for it. Her hair was up in a tight ponytail though a few stray baby hairs had already escaped.
"Initiating feedback in 3,2..." Hill said before pressing a button on the tablet she was holding. After a minute the door in front of them opened. Sam and Hill both had their guns up and instantly trained on the poor unfortunate soul that opened the door.
"Excuse us." Steve said simply as the mans hands shot up in surrender. Hill led Steve to the control console while Kelsey and Sam chained the couple of technicians to a pipe in the corner of the room.
"Sorry guys." Kelsey said before turning and walking to where Steve was about to make his little speech.
"Attention, all SHIELD agents. This is Steve Rogers. You've heard a lot about me over the last few days, some of you were even ordered to hunt me down. But I think it's time you know the truth. SHIELD is not what we thought it was, it's been taken over by HYDRA. Alexander Pierce is their leader. The STRIKE and Insight crew are HYDRA as well. I don't know how many more, but I know they're in the building. They could be standing right next to you. They almost have what they want: absolute control. They shot Nick Fury and it won't end there. If you launch those Helicarriers today, HYDRA will be able to kill anyone that stands in their way, unless we stop them. I know I'm asking a lot, but the price of freedom is high, it always has been, and it's a price I'm willing to pay. And if I'm the only one, then so be it. But I'm willing to bet I'm not."
Sam couldn't help but interject as soon as Steve hand was off the speaker button, "Did you write that down first, or was it off the top of your head?"
Kelsey did nothing to stop herself from snickering quite loudly. "Always a flare for the dramatics Steve."
"Let's go. Hill you've got this covered right?" Kelsey said just before following Sam and Steve out of the room.
"Yeah go, good luck."
Nodding Kelsey ran after the other two, quickly passing the other two by and being the first to run out into the open air.
"They're initiating launch." Hill said through the ear pieces only a second after they were outside.
"Hey, Cap, how do we know the good guys from the bad guys?" Sam questioned as he and Steve caught up with Kelsey again.
"If they're shooting at you, they're bad."
With those last words, Kelsey and Sam jumped into the air each heading for their own helicarrier as bullets started firing all around them.
"Hey, Cap, I found those bad guys you were talking about?" Kelsey said narrowly avoiding getting shot by the HYDRA agents.
"You okay?" Steve asked quickly.
"Not dead yet." Kelsey quipped back quickly as she made her way to her assigned helicarrier. Ducking and weaving, Kelsey and Sam did barrel rolls past each other avoiding explosions and gun fire left and right as they tried to get close enough to the ships.
