"Something's not right." Steve said breaking the painful silence that the rest of the Avengers had been left in after the shocking display Kelsey had just made, quitting the Avengers and storming off.

No one had chased after her.

No one moved even an inch as she ran away.

They were still at a loss for words, all of them, at what had gone down.

"How so?" Tony asked bearing a guilt-ridden expression as he studied a tablet in his hand watching as some video played out.

"That's not Kelsey, that wasn't her." Steve stated shaking his head uneasily as he collapse on one of the lounge seats in the living room, his helmet held limply in his hand.

"Are you sure about that? That thing , that shit wasn't natural, she was talking to herself and her eyes..." Clint asked shifting in his seat his eyes still trained on the hallway she had disappeared down as if waiting for something to happen, maybe waiting for her to reappear.

"She was afraid." Bruce muttered thoughtfully. Most of the team turned to look at the scientist, now was his turn to shift restlessly under his teams' eyes. "She's afraid of whatever is going on. She's struggling to keep her powers under control, you guys saw it firsthand. Whatever's happening to her she's petrified of hurting others."

"How do you-?" Thor started to question when Natasha shot him an all too knowing look swiftly shutting the Norse God up.

Again a painful silence had fallen upon the team no one daring to speak up, no one willing to break that heavy lingering type of silence.  And so the silence persisted, uneasy and unwavering until a creepy laugh echoed down the empty metal hallways.

"What the hell was that?" Clint shifted yet again trying fruitlessly to get a better look down the hallway. The lights in the room flickered as a wave of cold air rolled across the room and all the team.

"Tony whatever you're doing stop it, now's not the time." Steve shot at the millionaire coldly. All eyes were turned on Tony who in turn bore a flabbergasted expression.

"It's not me, Rogers."

"No. It's me." An all too distorted and messy voice called from behind the team. The whole Avenger team jumped, Natasha included as they whipped their heads around to find the source of warped voice.

Standing in the now markedly darker hallway, her hair a ratty and strung out mess,  her uniform partially torn apart and a trail of blood behind her as a puddle formed under her left arm as it dripped down her fingers.

"Kelsey." Steve was the first up rushing to stand next to her, only to be knocked to the ground as a wave of terrible wind blasted through the empty hall behind her.

"Sorry, Stevie but Kelsey is gone for a bit so I thought why not take a turn behind the wheel."

"W-What?" Tony stuttered out standing up as Natasha helped Steve off the ground only to be pushed back by another gust of wind.

"I didn't stutter now did I? " The voice which was clearly coming from Kelsey's body hissed out each word dripping with venom. "Kelsey has left the building, I am in charge right now. Must I prove myself?"

No one made a move to answer her, instead watching the lady as she laughed coldly, her eyes turning dark, blacker than the night. Her iris, scalera and even the pupil had become pitch black as if a curtain had wiped over them.

"What the-?" Clint shouted falling off the couch with an unpleasant thunk.

"Holy shit." Bruce cursed suddenly and unsurprisingly.
