Kelsey wasn't sure what to do. She was helpless, stuck watching the scenes in front of her unfold without any control at all.

She was stuck in the body, smelling the roasted nuts and popcorn in the air, feeling the pressed suits brush against her exposed arms, hearing every little word of the passers-by and popping of fireworks in the distance.

She could do nothing but watch, she couldn't even speak.

She was living someone else's memories, with no control over any of her actions.

Instead she just watched albeit fighting all the way for some sort of control, she watched the world unfold around her. She'd seen in passing on some news paper it was Monday June 14th, 1943 with a big ad for the 'World Exposition Fair of Tomorrow' taking up the majority of the front page.

"So of course you've got your Casanova boy, so who is my date?" The blonde haired woman who'd picked up Kelsey from her apartment asked.

From what Kelsey gathered the pair were friends and the blonde woman's name was Bonnie. The pair had long since left Connie's apartment, taken a train from Brooklyn into Queens and had stopped right outside the World Expo that been on the newspaper.

"Bon lovey, I don't get how your so khaki wacky all the darn time!" Connie laughed her voice light, and yet there was something Kelsey could feel was weighing down on her shoulders. "You don't want people thinkin' you're a share crop do ya?"

Bonnie gave Connie an incredulous look before smacking her in the arm the pair bursting out into a fit of laughter.

"C'mon tell me about him, you really haven't said much at all!" Bonnie defended elbowing her friend genially.

"Well I told you his name is Steve. He's sweeter than sugar, always standing up for the lil' folk even if it means he's fightin' someone bigger than 'im. Can't cut a rug too well but he's got a good heart and that's what matters." Connie answered affectionately looking out into the crowds in search of the pairs dates.

Finally, through the mix of all the crowds Kelsey in Connie's body finally spotted the pair she'd been searching for. The smile on her face grew to the point it made her cheeks hurt, "Bucky! Stevie!"

The names made Kelsey's heart skip a beat and just the sight of the two was an absolute blow to Kelsey's reality. Leaving Bonnie behind, Connie ran forward approaching the two men who'd been her lifelong friends.

"Hey sugar, are you rationed?" The taller one wearing a Sargent's military uniform asked. With the tinniest of snorts, Connie rolled her eyes and threw her arms around the two men, one a head shorter than the other.

"Careful doll this knuckle head got into another scrap today." The silky smooth voice whispered into Connie's ear. Pulling away Connie's eyes trailed over to thin pale blonde man she'd been hugging, forcing Kelsey to look at him too.

It was Steve Rogers, a young Steve still sickly no trace of the Captain America he would become. He had some light bruising under his right eye and just a trace of dried blood under his nose.

"What was it this time, Stevie?" Connie said taking a step back as she crossed her arms to look at her longtime friend, her demeanor had changed in an instant from the bubbly persona she'd been wearing to that of a motherly one.

"A guy was being disrespectful at the picture show."

"And you tried to teach him a lesson am I right?" Connie asked getting a nod from not only Steve but the man next to him.

Kelsey wanted to smile, despite all the pain she was feeling right now. The voice in her head, Connie was right. And the feelings she had for the pair were hers not Kelsey's.
