~Hey Guys I hope you are enjoying the story just so you guys know this chapter is gonna be a little bit longer than normal ones~
Sleep had never been something that came easy to Kelsey, unlike other people who could simply rest their head against something and knock out it seemed to take around an hour at least for her to get close to falling asleep.
And usually that sleep only last maybe three or four hours at most and even then she would be waking up multiple times during the night. Drifting to sleep only to wake up a little bit later feeling more exhausted than she had been beforehand.
Those few hours of sleep were usually dreamless with the occasional completely bizarre dream that leave her questioning her sanity nearly all-day long.
But that first night Kelsey had slept in Stark Towers, the one dream she had that night was so realistic and chilling that once she'd woke up she had no idea where she was as her heart raced pounding against her ribcage struggling to get a breath.
The dream was terrifying, it felt so real, she could feel everything.
At first Kelsey could barely open her eyes. They felt so heavy and she simply felt immobile. Shifting her head up, her ratty unkempt hair was blocking her view. Her whole body ached painfully but the worst had to be her back, even though everything was numbed the pain across her back was intense like a laser had shot her and dozens of knives continued stabbing her in the back with even the smallest breath that she took.
She was in a prison wearing a straitjacket that was so tight she could just barely move her fingers. Around her neck was a blinking collar that made it difficult to swallow. And wrapped around her ankle was a chain that kept her bound to the wall.
"Hello Tony." Kelsey said without control of her words. She looked up letting the hair move out of the way so her face was clear. From the corner of her eyes she saw her reflection in the metal of the wall. Her face was thin and pale, there were bruises on her face too but the most notable feature was her busted lip.
There was Tony Stark. On the opposite side of the bars wearing one of his fancy designer suit but he also had a black eye and his arm was in a sling. A look of horror dawned on Tony's face and the only words he could find were, "I didn't know."
"Of course, you didn't, no one ever knows the true impact of their actions when they are taken. God I sound fucking ridiculous..."
Then Clint began to yell at Tony but his words were all muddled by the time they reached her ears. Tony couldn't help looking between Clint and Kelsey with nothing but painful regret on his face.
She let out a low laugh after Clint finished his tirade gaining Tony's attention yet again
"You know Tony, I just realized what's happened. These people have finally put the monster into chains. It's finally happened Tony. They've confirmed it. I am the monster that I always knew I was. And now everyone can see it."
"Kels..."
"No Tony. Just leave me alone." Kelsey said shifting her head so it was buried in her arms. Closing her eyes, she was met with the sound of explosions and bullets raining down around her. But just before she'd woken up a single voice clear as day above all the other sounds called out to her, "Don't leave me doll."
Shooting up from her bed Kelsey struggled to regulate her breath, her lungs tight feeling as though she was suffocating. Like a weight was on top of her chest and she couldn't get in an actual regular breath.
"Ms. Blackburn, do you want me to call for assistance?" Jarvis called out in the darkness.
But Kelsey just shook her head no putting her hand on her chest trying to calm herself out of the hyperventilating. Her hand was somehow ice cold, but as it hit her burning hot chest mixing with the sweat that coated her whole body, chilling her slightly. It took a lot of concentration to slow her breathing just enough so that she wouldn't pass out.
