Dustin's pov~

"Dart, gotta talk you buddy," I whisper-shout once I lock my door and throw my backpack to the floor. "It's about my friend Will. I think–"

Once I uncover what used to be my pet turtles home, my brain feels like it stopped functioning.

The glass is broken in shards, there's this green-yellow sort of liquid in it, and skin is left all in it. Suddenly there's a low growl coming from behind so I slowly turn around and finally see the black trailings. My feet begin to follow them and they go all the way back behind my chair.

I feel myself start to shake when my eyes find that there are scratches on the wall and blood on the carpet. And in the middle of it all, there's Dart, eating all of what's left of Muse the cat.

Saturday morning, and I already have a plan to follow through. My mother is worried sick because Muse is missing, she is in complete persuasiveness by me that Muse ran away. She is so worried that she's all over town looking for Muse, and as a lie I told her I'd stay home to see if anyone called to say they found the cat.

As for Diana, I actually didn't have to kick her out of the house. She told me something along the lines of a plan, weed, & trying to find something personal out of Asshole Barvote? Names are easily forgotten to me and it doesn't matter as long as she's gone.

Currently I'm throwing slices of bologna on the floor throughout my house in worn out ugly baseball catcher gear with a hockey stick in my hand to lure Dart outside. "Alright Dart, breakfast time," I shout at my closed door and my hand slowly pushes the door open. Knowing that he can eat me in no time, I start running and out of instinct my mouth continuously conjures up "Oh my god" many times. And then I switch to "Shit" when I'm out the backyard door and running to the old storage room we don't use.

Once inside I shut the door quickly & start to observe Dart through the little openings between the wood of the storage. He's following the bologna but stops when he sees that the trail still follows into the old small basement underground. Dart whirls around fast, making me flinch back. Stupid son of a bitch knows my plan now. Well, it's too late to make him believe I'm not here.

My foot kicks the door open and now I'm running towards Dart to catch him but he's now running away probably scared shitless. I whack him by his side into the basement with my hockey stick and he goes flying inside and that's when I start to run faster to close the two doors. I lay on the doors to make sure he doesn't escape and breathing heavily I sigh, "I'm sorry. You ate my cat."

Diana's pov~

"Your half-assed glum face has been a really depressing aspect in my life ever since Wednesday so as Queen I command you to take this and buy something for Nancy and work your charm magic," I state as I stuff ten dollars in his face while taking my seat across from him.

Yesterday I told Steve to meet me here to clarify the plan for the weekend. As of right now the plan for him is to see if Nancy still wants Steve back, even though it IS her fault. He tells me to put the money away, saying he has some already. My hand stuffs the money back in my jean jacket before taking the first sip of my espresso that's been sitting here since I arrived. My body musters up a yawn after which confuses me. Espressos have caffeine in them, right? I hope so. I've just been slightly worried about Dustin.

"Steve, I have a question," I tell the boy in front me.

"Go on,"

"Well you see, it's Dustin. I for sure know it's normal for thirteen year olds to have secrets but he's just way too closed off for my liking! Am I just worrying too much?" My brother is just the only one I'll probably be left with. I may treat him like shit but that's what I'm supposed to do, I'm older!

"I'd say you're just overreacting too much. It's normal at his age to want to spend more time with his friends than his family," he says nonchalantly.

"Yeah, well look where that got us last year," I spat at him a little too harsh. By the surprised look on his face I sigh, "I'm sorry, you're right. I guess I'm just a little too tired."

"Just forget the plan for today, go sleep or something, okay? But I gotta go now and catch up with Nancy."

Dustin's pov~

12:43 pm

After no one responding to my urgent red codes on the walkie-talkies while cleaning up the mess from my room, I decide to take matters into my own hands. But clearly Mr. Wheeler is just as unhelpful as Lucas's sister.

"Son of a bitch you're really no help at all, you know that?" I spit at Mr. Wheeler as I turn and stomp away as he says to watch my language.

Then suddenly a car pulls up by the sidewalk and thick, chocolate brown hair comes into view. It's Steve Harrington walking to the front door with a bouquet of roses in his hand. He starts saying something like "Sorry? What the hell am I sorry for?"

"Steve!" I shout while running up to him, "Are those for Mr. and Mrs. Wheeler?"

"No–"

My hand snatched the bouquet out his hands and he starts after me yelling "WHAT THE HELL, HEY!"

"Nancy isn't home right now!" I shout back at him as I start towards his car.

"Well where is she?"

"Doesn't matter! We have bigger problems than your love life," exaggerating as I open the passenger door. "Still have that bat?"

"Bat, what bat?"

"The one with the nails!" Is he really that submissive?

"Yeah why?"

"I'll explain it on the way!" I say as I hop into his car.
