Saturday

The past few days have been more lonely than the past few weeks. Dustin only shares small talk with me at home and the car rides are completely quiet. I get the feeling that he's disappointed in my choice of who I'm hanging out with. Steve always has an angry scowl on his face whenever Billy comes up to me and steals me from him.

But what Steve hasn't realized yet is that I let Billy do that. I could push him away if I really wanted to.

Dustin nor Steve know about tonight. So as I change my sweats for a black long sleeved dress that's off shoulder, I heavily contemplate whether or not to bail out on our date.

Stepping out of my room to the living room, it is completely dark, the house being eerily silent because my mother is out with her friends, Dustin is with Lucas, and I'm going to be out of here in a bit.

Or so I thought.

"Where are you off to?" A voice comes from the darkness, scaring the living shit out of me.

"What the hell?" I shout, rapidly turning on the lamp near the couch. There Dustin sits, staring at me through the low light, almost giving me a heart attack.

"Dustin?! I thought you went with Lucas!"

"Cancelled. He's with Max at the arcade and I'd rather not look at the love of my life with another man. Where are you going?" He asks blandly, his voice with no emotion truly setting me off edge.

Faster than I can process, my response turns into more of a question, "Girls night! Err...clubbing? The girls are already waiting for me outside!"

The lies are going to be eating me alive soon.

"Really, cuz I don't hear an engine outside at all–"

"Yep, they're already here, goodbye! No parties!" I give him a fake cheery thumbs up and shuffle away towards the front door, praying that he doesn't follow me.

Shutting the door behind me fast, I'm about to scurry away until I find my eyes fixed on a tanned chest visible from a button up that's half buttoned. Working my way up (slowly) to his face, I find myself staring too long at his jawline.

"You can see more of this if we go inside," Billy cockily starts off the date with his originality. Finally looking up to his eyes, "Sure I owe you for this week and saving my ass just now but I don't think I owe you that type of favor," I retort, grabbing his hand and start running off to his Camaro. Slipping inside his car and buckling my seatbelt, I press on for him to drive now and fast. Once he makes a right turn out of my street I say, "Dustin will hate me if he knows I'm even in the same car as you, please try to bare with me."
