Chapter 7: Infected

Y/N's POV

"Let's go, guys, I think we should leave," I say to everyone.

"But it is still dark out and raining," Hoseok says with a tint of whining.

"Yeah I know, but it is a good time to sneak by unnoticed. Look the faster we leave the faster we are done." I explain to them.

"She is right, we should leave now, it would be a lot quicker," Yoongi says. They all nod their head. Wow, so they listen to him but not me?

"Well, I chose this room because there is an elevator shack that leads to the electrical room. In that electrical room, there is an exit that will lead into the city." Jungkook explains to us. We were all speechless. Wow, he is really smart. "Guys don't stare at me like that." Aw, he's is getting shy. We all say sorry in unison.

We follow Jungkook to another room which has the elevator shack. He then turns on a generator followed by pressing a button on the wall. I am curious about how Ellie must feel about all of this. Just then the floorboard open and we all proceed down the stairs. Once we got to the bottom we began looking around for anything that we could use.

"Ellie once we get outside I need you to stay close to us. You understand?" I ask Ellie.

"Yeah, I will, don't worry." She responds.

We end up in a dead end and the only way out is up. "Well someone should go up and check if the coast is clear," I say. Then Hoseok, Jungkook, and even Ellie look at Yoongi.

He rolls his eyes. "I'll go you, little wimps." I hold in my laughter.

He climbed up the ladder and open the hatchet door. "Guys there is a patrol, I'll tell you when you can come up." He says.

We wait a bit until he tells us to hurry up. I was the last one up when Ellie started talking. "Wow look at the outside." I am stunned that she is in awe. I wonder what she has been doing for the last 14 years of her life.

Hoseok and Jungkook are walking ahead of us when suddenly someone attacks us and had us all on our knees. They put us in a row and have their guns point behind us. These people are the military guys, and there are 5 of them. Solider 1 calls in about 5 captives on his radio. We can't kill them because they work for the Government, even if I want to. Suddenly, 2 men leave causing only 3 soldiers to stay.

They then start to scan us with some device and say clear each time, but once they get to Ellie she quickly grabs a shiv from her pocket and stabs the man deep in his knee. I get up and run to soldier 2 and dodge his bullet and kicked him to the ground. Jungkook has soldier 1 in a chokehold while Hoseok twists the guy's neck. Yoongi takes soldier 3 and grabbed the knife out of his leg and stabbed his neck while I shoot soldier 1 in the face. I guess killing them was my only choice.

Jungkook then moves over to the scanner and picks it up. He looks at it and he seems mad. "Look at this." He says to me and tosses it over to my side.

It reads 'Infected'. I throw it to Hoseok and him and Yoongi read it and they look surprised.

"What the hell. Did Amber set us up?" I say pissed. We all look at Ellie and she starts backing up.

"I can explain." She says.

"Then explain NOW!" Jungkook says in a stern voice. She then shows us her bite mark on her left arm.

"It is 3 weeks old. Trust me, why would Amber lie to you guys?" Wait, is she saying she is immune to the infection?

"I am not buying it," Yoongi speaks up. Maybe this is why she is so special though.

"Yoongi, Jungkook lets wait a bit, I feel like we should give her a chance. Let's give her 3 days. That should be enough and if she doesn't change then I guess she is immune and if she does then we kill her." I say to them. I could hear Jungkook sigh. Then Hoseok interrupted us.

"Guys look they are coming, run NOW!"
