Chapter 9: Part 1

Yoongi's POV

It wasn't raining anymore which is good. "Wow! Look at the buildings. But most of them are destroyed. Why?" Ellie asks us. Where has this girl been for the past 3 years or should I say 14 because, by the looks of it, it really does seem like she has never been out in the real world.

"They bombed everything, all the way to the quarantine zones. They were hoping that they could kill over 50% of the infected. It did work, but it didn't last long." Y/N says. I look out at the scenery, she knows a lot, but I can't trust her. Out of nowhere, we hear a screeching noise.

"D-did you guys hear that?" Hobi asks with a tint of terror in his voice.

"Hobi hyung, they sounded far away so let's just hurry," Jungkook tells him and tries to comfort him. Then Y/N walks over to him.

"Hoseok, don't worry we are right here and we will protect you. Trust me." She says to him while grabbing his hand and smiling at him. She doesn't seem like a bad person, I just don't want to get close to her or Ellie.

"I'm glad that I am not alone in this," Hobi says smiling.

~~~~~Mini time skip~~~~~

We get inside a huge building and I start to grab things that I thought would be useful. We continue our way when we see something that is blocking the door. We get closer and let me tell you, it wasn't pretty.

"Ew...it's a dead clicker," Hobi says. Then Ellie speaks up.

"What's wrong with its face?" It looks like it had fungus growing on its face, but that is just how they usually look.

"Well, that's what years of infection will do to you. But they are blind, well sorta, they see using sound." Y/N explains to her. Just then Jungkook starts to peel the body off of the door.

"So they are like bats then?" Ellie asks Y/N and she smiles and nods her head.

Jungkook starts to push the door open and I go over to help the kid. We finally get it to open and we all go through the door. It is a sight to see, literally, nature has taken over. Plants are growing all over the floor and the walls. Although one wall is missing and the building is slanted to the point we could see the streets really well.

"Careful, this building feels like it could collapse at any moment now," Jungkook warns us. We start walking halfway through the building when it starts to shake.

Hobi quickly grabs Ellie as if she is going to protect him. Yeah, he may seem like a scaredy cat, but trust me when we're fighting he completely changes personality.

Just then, the building stops shaking and right in front of us is a door. "Oh my gosh, when will we get out of here?" Hobi starts to whine. I don't blame him though. I hush him and everyone else. I then twist the door and go in.

Just then I hear something running to me from my left. I turn and a Clicker jumps right in front of me.

I grab it by its forearm and try to hold it steady. It is really strong that it pushes me to the ground. Just then I hear a sound of a gun loading and the suddenly the Clicker stops moving. Everything happens so fast that I couldn't process anything until I looked up.

"Um...th-thanks..." I say shyly. I couldn't believe I didn't check for a Clicker before entering the room. That was something that the Butterflies taught us. I should have banged on the wall to see if there was anything on the other side.

Y/N just nods her head and continues to look around. I quickly stand up and look around as well.

"If this was here then there must be more, so lets hurry before one of us gets killed." Y/N says while walking forward and Hobi just put one arm around my shoulder. And gave me a genuine smile. Man how I miss the past.

"You okay?" He asks me. I just nod my head and start walking with the rest.

I need to be more careful next time. I don't want to put anyone in danger, not even myself. I trained too hard for that. With the pep talk, I continued walking with more determination.
